$2000 Added WINNER break Race to 9 nine ball @ Rack Daddy's Quincy Ill. Sat Feb 27

Mark
This is a business for Sam. Having this a 1 day event brings no one into his bar on Sunday. Even if there is only 4 players left it brings those 4 plus whoever is with/backing them and some locals that come to enjoy the great pool. That is extra money for his bar that usually gets very little business on Sunday afternoons. Just my 2 cents

Good point

Many players, some from St Louis and lower Iowa have pointed this out to me while at the tourneys and I have discussed it with Sammie as well.

From the player/stakehorse point of view, there is nothing like a late night drive home with a pocket full of cash and getting home to your labs greeting you at the door and then waking up in your own bed, plus it reduces your cost of the trip.

FYI
I do ALWAYS bring an overnight bag just in case the player I bring makes it to Sunday. And, I think this is my favorite event, except perhaps for a $2000 added event in STL where I do not worry about not seeing my dogs.

Besides the fact I would have to spend the night with Mountain Man.

Two more weeks and this one will be in the books.

QUOTE=markpatrick;2250893]The next $2000 Added 9 ball WINNER Break race to 9 will take place on Saturday February 27th @12:30 sharp. Bring an overnight bag as this tournament is expected to fill up and the big money winners will finish the tournament on Sunday.

Stay tuned for Flyer Post.:wink::wink::wink:

Winner break will draw those players who enjoy playing heads up and do not prefer a handicapped event, where the locals have the benefit of the doubt? There is NO doubt at Rack Daddy's You can break and run racks until your match is over and not worry about getting smoked by a 4 that shoots like an 8 but plays at the room all the time.

$40 bucks and NO quarters !!!!!!!

:eek::eek::eek::eek:[/QUOTE]

Quincy is further than Cape, but I like the winner break aspect of this heads up event.

Wonder where the Big Dogs will be?:p:p

Yeah it is.

its a shame its the same it is the same weekend cape gir. has there 5000 added

But, Sammie called Cape prior to scheduling his events and was told that there was NO conflict with the dates he has scheduled.

You prefer? a handicapped event over a winner break race to 9? Heads up no spots?

Come on chicken ranch. Remember that PM you sent me? Well multiple that by 5. If you have what you expect to be a nuts handicap then you have no choice.

There may be only 50 people at Quincy but the payouts will be close to a couple grand and you will be home by 6 on Sunday.

I have to go to Quincy and try to pick the winner again.?:cool:

That may be true, but unless you play at the a level or higher you will have no shot. Guys like m.m. like these cause they do have the edge.4-13 is the handicap range in cape for the five thousand dollar added(last year drew 162 players). Mark, wouldnt you like to play gabe owen or jon hennessey a 4-13 race on superfast tables(.50)? The cream always....always rises to the top in an open format. Handicap tourney makes everyone play their best and ratings are usually right inline. Evelynn and Danny will be running a class event no doubt with a big calcutta. Last year a 10 won the event with a 13 in second place. I would like to make it to quincy, but will have to make the 1.2 mile drive to The Billiard Center. Good Luck with your horse(s).

I see your point

I know it will be a class event. I have known Eveyln and Danny going on twenty years, when they were running Texas Express 9 ball tourneys for John? can't remember his last name.

Now you have me salivating over that HUGE calcutta, a shorter drive but I am still on the fence. I will have to call Evelyn next week after the Mo 8 ball team tournament to see what my bankroll looks like.

I would like to see a list of the top 8 from last year and see if any 4's, 5's, 6's hit the board? Will Devin still be a 10?, if he won as a 10 is he an 11?

I go to tournaments somewhere every Saturday. So, perhaps knowing how good player x is perhaps rated as a 10 or 11 and I have him clocked at a 13 if not a 14, he would be the guy to buy.

LOTS of tournament results are hard to find unless you know how to dig through the internet or have been at the event to watch guys put up 6 packs on people in multiple sets, and lay up and play a lock safety when they cannot get out.

There is enough geographical seperation for each event not to impact the other, in my opinion. This years winner will be a 10 or 11 who plays at a 14 level. So, if I am there I would be buying the 10's and 11's

It all depends on what Dustin Dunham wants to do, AJ has some team tourney and unfortunately will be unavailable. I might just send Dustin and Kevin Gabriel down there to take on the field.

$50 bucks? That buys a LOT of beer.

all i know is if i could draw 162 players at RACK DADDYS i would gladly add 5000.00 and smile about it

Hopefully both will have good turnout. I think last year that most of the top ten was like 7's-11's I believe. GaryL. will probably play as a 12 or 13 seeing how he finished high at wichita as an 11. Chuck R. 13, Tony F.13, myself 10, and ther is a slew of 6's thru 9's. I hear there will be a couple of 14's there depending on the overall range of 4-14. Tables are being recovered this week and there is sure to be some action for all skill levels. I would say Devin could still play as a 10 but you never know. My pick of the tourney is Gary as an 11. A few of us have been wanting to come up but unfortunatly we wont be able to this time. We are trying to give the new owner support and this tourney is sort of his grand opening. You may know Brendan Sullivan, he is from STL.

they r both good tourneys,I wish i could play both of them

Should I drive down to Cape and play Sarah Rousey even in a handicap tournament? Looking for a stakehorse and I will make the trip.

(does that mean that Jim doesn't own Cape anymore??)

I think Brandon the sandbagger Sullivan bought it.

I will go in half on your entry fee, if you can play as a 4 and we can collaborate via cell phones to determine who has the handicapped nuts in Cape. I know the answer? But we can discuss that via PM.

I will go to Quincy and play there. You can go in half"? I will take Dustin Dunham, who prefers to play heads up winner break as opposed to this handicapped BS.

Either way we still have nearly 2 weeks to determine what path to go.
WILL YOU BE BACK FROM FLORIDA FOR THESE TOURNEY'S????????

WPBA player is a 4?

Come on man? I go to Quincy and you go to Cape.

We use modern technology to determine who has the nuts?
Quincy is easier, as you now. We have nailed that event.
Cape, depends on the handicaps on who has the nuts?
But I would have to pick JE as the fav. Perhaps Pinegar or even Fargo, I cannot recall his actual real last name at this time.
\
CALL ME. WE STILL HAVE 2 WEEKS. WELL ALMOST

Mo 8 ball next week, then me and Dustin are going to Quincy.

Possible contender?

You must know Watchez, but not aware of his superior pool playing skills which he has developed over the years.

If there is a flood somewhere you want Watchez there to help keep the rush of water coming over the man made wall.
:D
:D

Just got word that a couple players from Centrailia Illinois will be making the trip to Quincy and prefer, winner break heads up race to 9 over a handicapped event.:eek::eek:

Only players who lack confidence in themselves in "tournament play" steer away from winner break heads up tourneys. Myself, I dont feel like i truly have beaten top players in alt. break format, or getting games on the wire. Dont get me wrong, Obviously i prefer an edge in money games(like anyone else),but a tournament is different, if i lose i lose (so what),but if i win.... i truly win. imo that is the best opportunity to see who is the best on that given day with that given field in that given tournament. Besides that if Cape, and Quincy are the same day, I'd rather play bowman even, and get drilled than play a 6 at cape that plays as good as me alt. break:rolleyes: To me this is just a game. Simple as that. I play tourneys for fun so put ---->(:eek::eek:) in your pipe and smoke it mark:cool:

Yeah thats what I would want is to go play and get drilled by jessie bowman. Why? Just an easy exscuse so theirs no pressure.. Sarah played as a B+ last time she was in the weekly handicap tournament and didnt cash. I really havent seen you play watchez other than one pocket with suitcase, but I would think you could get in as a 5 or 6. I like any 5 or 6's chance getting 7 or 8 on the wire alt. break. Chicken ranch, come down and you will get a chance to se someone like tony fargo snap all the young champions off like last time he won the open against the likes of Henny,Baraks, quinn,Vilmont, and Raulston to name a few. I will play as a 10 and Ill take my 4 games against these caliber players cause I know I need them. Handicap gives everyone and I mean everyone a chance. If they didn't handicap sports games with points, who would win most of the time? The favorite- thats right so make your donation and youll at least be able to say "well I got beat by Jessie and Jamie Barraks".

Watchez, you are correct Jim sold to Brendan Sullivan but everything is pretty much the same as far as tables and setup. They are suppose to get a diamond barbox and 9 footer for action matches.

I go to watch and make MONEY

I do not smoke.

I was complementing the fact that you prefer playing heads up, winner break in Quincy as opposed to the Cape tourney playing a 5 and getting beat 5-5 with alternate break. But, all comments, push this thread to the top of the PILE. I will see you there if not before. Per our PM.:frown:

Didnt Fargo split with Klatt?

Or was that a different tourney, I know me and Watchez made some money on him in that auction. When they split the 1st and 2nd place auction funds. Nothing like a top heavy pay out.

Does anyone have the finishers of last years event? and their handicaps?
To see if any 5's or 6's even cashed?
