Has anyone else noticed all the so called unknown cues listed on eBay lately? Well folks here is another one, the cue is listed as a possible Adam but I don't think so, this cue has some interesting features that make it appear to be more than a simple cue. Below is a list of what in my opinion makes this cue appear interesting:

1) The cue has one of the Old Brunswick Brown Bumpers that is attached with an Allen Screw.

2) The cues weight bolt is removed from the Delrin Butt CAP and the cue has a threaded metal insert that is visible that the weight bolt screws into. However, the weight bolt looks new to have been original to the cue unless it was replaced or cleaned.

3) The cues trim rings at the joint also are interesting, the way they are spaced is different than most makers normally use.

Here is a link to the auction, let me know who you think made it:

Take Care:)

The wrap looks like nylon. Isn't that a sign of an older cheap import?

The wrap on the cue looks like Irish Linen to me, but even if it was Nylon that is not always a sign that the cue was an import. Even Balabushka used Nylon on his early cues, along with many other cue makers from the 1960's. In fact Balabushka cues with their original Nylon wrap are very rare, because once George and others started using Cortland #9 Irish Linen, many of the owners of cues with a Nylon wrap sent them back to be re-wrapped.

I noticed the wide joint rings also, but what about the shiny brass pilot on the shaft? Some of the inlays look a little odd in shape, but maybe in the past when you had to do it by hand that's how it was.

I also agree the inlays are not what I would expect to see on a cue like this cue. This style of inlay is what was coming out of Asia in the 1970's through the 1990's. I also noticed that the pilots on the shafts where mighty shiny kinda like the weight bolt.

The diamond inlay pockets look like they were cut by hand - if you look closely I think i can see an overcut mark. The Taiwan cues used that technique in the mid 1970's and early 1980's. The shaft insert brass pilot /joint was available at that time but I would have to say the brass pilot is longer than other cues I have from the 1970's - 1980's era. The forearm looks pretty bad - I don't think it's an Adam.

Maybe this is a Filipino custom from parts pulled off a KPS (Falcon taiwan)cue.

Hey Chris did you see the metal insert in the butt that the weight bolt screws into, that is not something you see every day.

Take care
