Can you explain the zebra stripes you are talking about? Are the stripes visible in the pictures? Could you put an arrow on the picture using "paint"
 
Hey Glenn

I can see the "zebra stripes" on the table itself, across the area by the side pockets. Also ripples under the nosing, or area between the slate and the points/cushion. Are these what your talking about as far as stripes go???
Also, mom has a GCIV and I'm wondering about these plates/braces that have been mentioned. Is this something that should be done?Thanks in advance for the reply!!

i would LOVE to see a close up pic of your side pockets, especially the facings. i am curious where the crease of the cloth is where it was folded on the facings?

Since you want to post the pictures of the work I've done as a way of trying to show the same zebra stripes in which you have no idea the difference between light reflection vs grain of cloth stretch and dimpling of the nose of the cushions...let me try and help you a little with some more pictures of my rail cloth installation work...with some better close up pictures....okay!;)

Now....just so that we're clear Mantool...and YOU have a better understanding...light reflects off the grain of the cloth when taking pictures of it from an angle, more so if it's a worsted wool cloth like Simonis. BUT...on the tops of the rails the cloth is flat grained running the length of the rails if installed correctly, and the light reflection can only be sometimes seen on the bottom side of the cushion because the stretch of the cloth when installing it...stops at the nose of the cushions. Now, if the cloth is installed cross grain, in-order to stretch the cloth and attach it on the bottom side of the rails you have to pull the slack out of the cloth to do so...but with cross grain cloth there is almost no stretch in the cloth...so when you pull it tight...that tight pulls all the way from the feather-strip giving you the stretch zebra look on the tops of the rails as well as under the bottom, and because there is almost no stretch in the cloth...it also puts a more direct pull on the nose of the cushion...causing it to dimple real easy. Do you understand now?;)

Thank you for clearing that up. I was curious how you could call TableTek's rails zebra striped when I have seen the same stripes on your work. What you are saying is that he didn't stretch the cloth properly from corner facing to side pocket facing which in turn causes the stripes on the topside of the rail and dimples?

Glen, I think your pictures and your work are top notch. You are great at what you do. It sometimes frustrates me the way you approach others about their faults.

This thread was posted by a HAPPY customer who was more than satisfied with TableTek's work. Couldn't you have PM'd him or called him to discuss the zebra stripes?

It seems as if there is a bit of competitiveness on who has the better rail tooling between you guys. Your post inside this thread that is praising TableTek, seems like a shot at him because we are not talking about you. Just like you did when Jay Helfert posted a thread about how great of a guy Greg Sullivan is. It seemed you didn't like Greg getting all the credit for how awesome Diamond tables are.
