MAGIC BALL RACK - PRO VERSION (transparent)

My nine ball rack is getting hard to freeze one of the balls behind the head ball and Im trying to figure out if its the table or the rack. Some of the time it just sits on the rack and never moves after the break. Anyone else have this? If not Ill assume its the table. The rack really hasnt been used that much so Im thinking it is probably the crap table I have to play on.

Im using a set of Aramith Pros so its not the balls.

magic rack

Just wanted to say that I have used Bob Jewett's printable template version of this for 9 ball on my home table for a couple years now. These are just on regular printer paper and last me about 3 months.
Here is what I have found:
1. They work great! I never use any of my other racks any more for 9 ball.
2. Yes, they can interfere with ball movement and play if left on the table after the break. (I usually remove mine right after the break.....usually only having to lift the 9 ball to remove the paper and re-spotting it back where it was. It is well worth that effort for the perfect rack every time. Mine is also carefully marked to be centered and square with the table.........hence you can actually work on some very controlled breaks for 9 ball with quite consistent results. I like that a lot.
3. If you use it in exactly the same spot all the time, you evenually develop extreme wear (almost holes) in the cloth (simonis 860) for all the balls except the 1 ball which has a frequently changed headspot to protect it. This is still OK with me. It is simply worth it to have the consistent, dependable, tight rack. I figure on re-clothing every 2 to 3 years anyway.
4. My Conclusion: These are definately the thing for home table and practice and casual games at home. I hope they do become tournament legal with some rule that they must be removed right after the break.
5. I am going to order several of the 9 and 10 ball ones and maybe try one of the 8 ball ones. (I am a little tired of making the printable version ones) Also, the manufactured ones are a little different material that I believe will be better and last longer.

Hope this is helpful for anyone considering getting one. I sure wouldn't use anything else for 9 or 10 ball.

Sincerely,
Obsespool:thumbup:

My paper magic racks are still holding up, although they can definitely see some wear on it. I have probably used the 10-ball rack about 200+ times and it's still holding up. The pro version seems like it would be even better though, in the sense that it should last even longer ... when mine runs out I definitely need to get my hands on one.

Tony, you still have any of the pro magic racks? Do they still come in separate packs for the 9/10ball rack and the 8 ball rack? How much for a set of each in that case shipped? Are you back to taking paypal?
