At nine ball, you would have ball in hand after his lousy break, just like for any foul later in the game. This is by the World Standardized Rule. A push out is only allowed on the shot immediately after a legal break. There is never a rebreak at nine ball.So I was racing a friend earlier and he broke and completely scratched without really breaking the balls. I (being the douche that I am) chose to have him re-rack and have me break. Then it occurred to me; what if your opponent scratches with a foul break, and you choose to break and after you break you leave your opponent with no visible shot. If your opponent is on one foul already, are they allowed to push?
