Due to a completely unforeseen job loss several weeks ago now, and still no unemployment benefits, and facing the real possibility of foreclosure...I have to do something I swore I would never do...sell my beloved Tucker cue.

As some of you will know, Murray's cues are all exceptional players, and this one is no exception. His cues are also harder to find than hens' teeth...he crafts maybe 2-4 a year.

This particular cue is Bois de Rose into a lovely BEM. It is crafted from a full splice blank that Murray built himself..and may well be the only BdR full splice like it on the planet. BdR looks very much like ebony from a distance, but it is actually a black cherry color with grain. Bois de Rose is a sub species of Madagascar Rosewood, and it is my understanding that rosewoods from Madagascar are now on the Endangered Species list and are no longer being exported from Madagascar.

Specs as per Provenance from Murray Tucker III:

Joint Screw: 3/8-11 stainless steel
Joint Material: White phenolic
Joint Ring: Silver
Forearm: Birds Eye Maple
Points: Bois de Rose full splice
Butt Ring: Satinwood Hoppe
Butt Cap Material: Black phenolic
Bumper: Push in black rubber
Additional: Satinwood butterfly with black, lt blue and dk blue veneers

Shafts: 2 - 13mm with new yellow Micarta ferrules (.625) with Milk Dud tips

Butt Weight: 15.30 oz
Shaft 1 Weight: Modified SW taper 3.93 oz
Shaft 2 Weight: Modified Pro taper 3.75 oz

Length: 58"

This cue is unsigned, but does come with a Letter of Provenance from TCW/Murray Tucker III.

Cue has been played with...Murray does not build closet queens. I would rate this cue in overall excellent condition. Cue is straight with both shafts, and the wood stock used for both the butt and shafts is very well seasoned....so it should stay that way. There is likely a few miniscule dings in the butt, but I could not find them upon cursory inspection...and definitely nothing that would break the finish, or even come close. Points are dead nuts even.

SOLD!

Tucker cue

Sorry Lisa that you have to sell your Tucker, beautiful cue,had to due that with my Ivory jointed Gilbert for the same reason a few years ago,was hard to do.:(

First off...I want to apologize for the delayed response. I had to run my daughter to her friend's house in town, and I just needed to get away from the computer after my initial post. Some friend's took me out, and got my mind off of things for a little bit.

I will be responding to PM's shortly, and thank you for you patience and well wishes.

Lisa

**To Berny, Ross, and others who have expressed an interest in this cue in the past...I do apologize profusely. I have been super stressed, and once the decision was actually made, I just went into an 'auto' mode with taking pics, and getting as much info together as I could. There was absolutely NO slight intended. I clearly was not thinking and/or wasn't thinking clearly...maybe a little of both.

Bob, once again you have proven that you are an extraordinary individual. I was going to suggest to Lisa she find someone to "loan" her cue to for a "loan" of the cash. I know how she said she would never, ever sell no matter what and I know how she feels during a time like this.

Lisa, Bob has offered to take care of you, and I do not know of many (if any at all) would do the same. Good luck to you and I hope your misfortunes hastily turn around.

Lisa was offered $1,500.00 with a buy back by another respected member and she was so concerned that maybe she should honor my offer because it was made first. She's so sweet !! I told her that i am only looking out for her welfare, i didn't really need the cue. $1,500.00 is better than $1,000.00, go for it with my blessing Lisa. If anyone wants to up the ante a bit more this could become a great fund raiser for a sweet lady.

Now THAT is a stand up move and an incredible gesture!

Class act!!!

Absolutely NO argument from me!!! Both Bob and the member behind the scenes wanted to help me out in an incredible way, so as far as I am concerned, they're BOTH stand up guys! In this day and age, it is quite refreshing to find that there are still people who care.

I will definitely pay it forward when I am able to!

Lisa

It will turn around!!!!

Oops! Oh yeah...pending receipt of payment...the cue is SOLD!

Sad to see you let the girl go, but I can completely understand. I am in a similar situation, and the outlook is not good. I better learn how to scoop oil down here in the gulf, but even those jobs are not very promising right now - too many people looking for jobs, and applications just seem to gather dust.
I have thought about selling my baby, but haven't gotten to that bridge quite yet - close though. I am sure it was a tough decision, but just look forward to the future. Good luck in your search for a new job - it is tough out there. I am about ready to sling pizzas if they wouldn't consider me over-qualified.

Lisa I hope you have "the-luck-of-Steve" in the next TCW raffle that comes along. In the meantime, all the best on the job front.
