How come no one comes to get action or play in any tourneys in memphis anymore.

I'd love to come to Memphis. Tennessee is one of my favorite States.
What's the name of the pool room in your neck of the woods where the pool peeps hang out?
Well there is four main spots Sharpshooters, Highpockets, The rec in southhaven, And the rack.
Wow! Four pool rooms. Man, you're lucky. The only thing we have here are sports bars with loud music. No "real" pool rooms. I hope I get to Tennessee some day.
I know Bobby Pickle is from Tennessee, and I think Shannon Daulton lived there for a while, if memory serves me right -- or maybe it was Kentucky.
Believe me, you're in a better spot for pool than I am. :grin:
Howdy Frog. I just moved back to Memphis bout a month ago. I am just a bar banger and poor as a church mouse.....but I would dearly love to see some real talent make memphis a stop on the road circuit. If you hear of any such goings on....please drop me a line....I'll buy ya a beer or two and join ya at the rail......Dan
yes players is still open but the place is dead bad equipment bad everything. the billiard club on mount moriah i believe is shut down as well as bartlett billiards(sharpshooters is right behind there)
well pool is ok down here last year this time there wasnt a day i went without being in action but its kinda slowing down for our local yocals i never played no road players because i am no where near their level but as far as local there wasnt a week that i did not make 500 playing pool
I am part of a group called "The One-Pocket Travelers" and we will be in Memphis, Tenn August 6,7,8. We like to invite any one to come play or just hang out and have good time. We usually get together two or three times a year in a different city and state each time. There will be more info coming soon on onepocket.org

If you want to be around grown ups who work for a living and hardly ever any drama, than High Pockets is your place. Tournaments, leagues, and food all good
If you like wanna be hustlers that will never lose more than $30 of their money, go to the Rack. Tournaments are good, food is ok depending on who is there
If you like drama, teenagers, nits, etc... Head on over to Sharpshooters. The food is fine, Larger tournaments good, but weekly's not so much
If you have the $2000 required to get certain people out of bed, head to the Rec... Tough action, but good action

If u want a place with good atmosphere where there are mostly people scared to death to gamble but have a few who will thats high pockets.
ur comment is wrong about the rack the new manager jerry ramey a good friend would have to disagree also there is good action in there.
sharpshooters might have a lil drama but nits u r surely mistaken they just dont **** with road players. but they would be glad to flip a coin for a hundred. o yea and there and the rec compete for the prettiest women.
now for the rec u dont have to have 2000 dollars and there is as much action there as u like but there is ppl on call
