Funny that some people still think this way. The stream table is really the greatest teaser of all to get people in their car and go there. Of course the announcers will have to lay it down.

You tell zilla he was being negative for pointing out the bad decision a pool room owner made that someone else had already pointed out on FB and would have pointed out here if he hadn't, but it is ok for you to throw a Casino under the bus because they wouldn't pay you to come stream their event?

I don't think they were being negative about the casino. The situation is the hotel does have high speed internet and the casino still only has very limited internet. The casino just needs to decide if expanding their bandwidth year round is worth it, or if they need the even higher expense of having temporary lines run for an event that lasts a few days. :shrug:

The part about the bandwidth was the part that I agreed with and thought was handled well. The part where Big Truck came in after that and said that the reason there was no stream was because the casino didn't want to stream it because people wouldn't come to the event in person is what I perceive to be negative.

Undermining the first post about not enough bandwidth with a story about how he was supposed to do it but they backed out and aren't looking at streaming the correct way, was negative, imo.

Everyone was fine with the reason FrogKissing gave about the bandwidth. There was no need for him to say what he did. The fact that he gave zilla a hard time for starting a thread about the red cloth at HB, made his post in this thread that much worse. Zilla wasn't being negative but Big Truck was (again, imo).

You have me confused with someone else. Outside of this forum we have never spoken and certainly never partnered to do anything to where you could "part ways" with me. I am not self employed and do not have partners. Like most people, I work "for the man".

The topic of this thread has to do with the WPBA streaming. I found your comments in this thread to be negative and simply pointed out that it is apparently ok for you to knowingly post something negative about a host venue but yet you took issue with zilla for making an informative post.

I checked my last post and didn't notice any typos. You are mistaken.

Your deflection of my posts in regards to this thread are glaringly obvious. Since my posts point out a double standard that you hold for yourself, I shouldn't be surprised.

You'll get better results by pissing into the wind than you will by trying to have a pissing match with me. I'm not interested. I'm simply posting what I am observing here on the forum. We're all entitled to our own opinions and I'm not going to waste my time arguing a difference of opinions with someone who lives by double standards. I posted my point of view (twice) and you've deflected and completely ignored the things that I've said in this thread (twice). Your continued deflection on the topic at hand simply helps prove my point.

Now is when you should exit, face the wind, and drop your britches because anything said after this will just be repeating what has already been said over & over. That is a waste of time of which I have very little to begin with so my participation in this thread ends now.

I recall reading that in another thread somewhere. I don't know how many spots they were trying to fill but I noticed Melissa Herndon looking to contact a player (asap) last week and then again this week.

The casino had no idea about the value of a live stream on a feature table, as many pool rooms don't either. It's a VERY positive thing to begin to educate them on how it can benefit them.

It's much better now than it was only a few months ago, but it's imperative that the guys who are out on the front lines keep educating.

It very important that we distance ourselves from divisive negative people that remain anonymous so they can slander people for their own agenda.

There was some mention of Oldzilla by an anonymous poster. Oldzilla IS a positive force in the pool world. He, like all of us, occasionally make posts that have effects that are different from our intentions. I believe Gary is a good guy who sincerely wants to help improve pool.

I believe so. I'm sure that most top players are showing up. I am guessing J. Lee will sit this one out since she's nearing her due date. I don't think YuRam Cha will be making this one either.

However, until this year, each Regional Tours were given 1-2 chance to qualify the winners to fill 6-10 paid spots. I hear, this year, WPBA was going down the list from RTC (Regional Tour Championship) attendees and it is hard to come up with the expenses without little help or prior notice. I know a player who got asked this Saturday...


Eddit: I misread the question. I thougth question was WPBA having touble filling the spots this year. I meant yes, I think so to this year :)

I'm just saying, last time I spoke with her, she didn't think she was coming. Who knows, she may have changed her mind and surprise us.

I've heard that she is no longer managed by Dragon Promotion, but I could be wrong... DP still prints that they manage her so I'm going to plead the 5th on that topic.

Event isn't being streamed due to lack of bandwidth...same as it has been every year we have been at Riverwind. I have several emails from the casino itself about this topic...so I know of what I speak.

From what I have read, they have gone off "the list" for invites this year. Times are hard everywhere.
 
Well we welcome all that can come out this way. My wife and son are going out there tomorrow and I am hoping to make it out this weekend. And good luck to the AZB women playing in it!
