That's what it is. Next event is:

August 28-29, My birthday weekend. gl to me.

spread the word.

I think once a month is just about right. last weekend of the month.
We had a few good ideas last weekend, I'll put them up tmrw.

how it works:

Everyone has 48 hours to get their best run on the days of the contest.
Play in your own time zone.The clock on your wall is the right time for you.
You may continue past midnight Sunday as long as you get started within the 48 hours.
If you get something good tell us about it. Keep trying if you want, only your best run counts.
Post up your video's. If you can't get it done by the end of the contest, no problem, try and get it done Monday or Tuesday.
Runs can start from the breakshot or after a miss, either way is ok.
Dress code: There is no dress code, But keep it clean, this is a family show. If you play like John you can wear whatever you want.

If you are John, or Danny, or any one of the very few people capable of doing something extra special we would love to have you. If you get something really big and want to make a dvd no need to post up, Put me down for a copy.

My birthday, too. 8/28/51.

I emailed williebetmore and will talk to elvicash and others about it.

let's get more people into it.

Put me on the list for next month.

i am loving this idea......maybe we can do some sort of trophy thing in the end of a 6 or 12 month span....the one with the best record !

might be a nice keepsake to have on a mantle, too bad i dont have a mantle !!!!

Trophy for best record? How about MOST IMPROVED?! LOL!

I increased my personal best already by 15% since the last competition we had... :)
 
For those with birthdays, we should give them extremely high runs on our videos as presents. Happy early Birthday guys. thanks for the early announcement on the competition, I will be so excited I wont be able to sleep for the next 29 nights! I will use that time to watch my 294 dvd, maybe John's falsetto voice will put me to sleep hahaha

anyone have this new app for break speed. I used it on my 14.1 secondary break shots and was surprised at the number!

I was practicing just now and.....hot apple pie.... with ice..cream....focus....what was I saying..... ummm..... let's play some pool!!

he gave up after 40 minutes of sitting and racking. he tried to peel out in my driveway, but hit one of my son's toys and flipped over. I had to lay him in a chair in the garage. decided to keep playing while we waited for the ambulance. apparently not a good idea. he went insane after seeing me run out with my eyes closed. I don't think he'll try to beat one of my records again.

when i said i wish i had a mantle, i was implying that i dont have a mantle...just taking a jab at myself.... i by no means meant that i was gonna win....

there is just a little bit of tension here lately, and i may have read into that all wrong.... I Appologize !

lol. I just used your post on a mantle to try to make a weak joke. didn't know about any tension going on. ...meaning you were gonna win...didn't even think of that, was referring to trophy mantle in your earlier post. no apology necessary on your part. I mournfully apologize with penitent conscience-stricken atonement.

Jesse, I have that same app. A friend turned me on to it. For some reason, it is sensitive to where it is on the table. At the side of the table, we got readings in the 100+ range, at the head end of the table where you break from, we got 18-22 mph.

Play with it a little until you find the best location for you on your table.

Neat app though, also, make sure you tell it where the cue ball position is, that makes a big difference.

While I would LOVE to compete (of course I would have to sponge off elvicash since I don't have vid capability); I work weekends. Unless I got some sort of special dispensation from the Pope of Pool, I can't participate.

If no one minded, maybe elvicash and I could try it a day or two early (I doubt either of our spouses would think much of more than 1 day for such a trial). I'm somewhat doubtful I would be much of a threat; but it would definitely be a challenge. I would LOVE to be there when elvicash gets his 44 (I can't believe he doesn't run 44 everytime he plays...he's got game).
