I am fortunate to have the corporate office of my company residing in the same town that Ron Haley and his lovely wife Jaylon live in. I get to visit Ron & Jaylon several times a year, and just returned from a trip to their shop.

Ron & Jaylon are such gracious hosts and two of the nicest people I have ever known. Ron agreed to letting me post a few pictures of his shop. As you would expect, he has a first class operation!

I took these on my iPhone so I apologize for the quality.

Inlaying and engraving happens here:

It also goes under heavy scrutiny:

The paint booth, as Ron would say:

Enough shaft wood to last Ron the rest of his life by my estimation! :D

Good wood!:

Sorry... no cue cue pics to protect the guilty! Ron polished up a few cues he was finishing while I was there. There are going to be several VERY happy people in the next few weeks.

I do have a man crush on Ron.... notice there is no CNC.

<-- checking google maps to see how far I am away now... :)

Thanks for posting pics of your Haley visit. How did the Scruggs, Cochran, Haley cue look? p.s. not looking for details.

I counted the shafts and when my name comes up in 2017, I'll take the last two. They should be aged nicely by then!

"Ron Does all of His Inlay work with a Dentist' Hi-Speed cavity drill "

just kidding...

I have had a few visits to his shop as well,

He really has an awesome shop

thats a fine shop, thanks for the pics.

I'd bet a dollar that less than half that shaft wood gets used by anyone, ya gotta buy a pile of shaft wood to get a few good ones. As they age some go bad and are useless, what your looking at is a starting point for ending up with a few shafts for what Ron will eventually use, he has high standards. There is 1000 shafts there, I dont think there is a cue maker alive with 1000 shafts as good as Ron uses at the end of the day. Thats why GOOD shafts are expensive, you buy 1000 and end up with 10% or less to deliver shafts as good as Rons.

thats a real nice shop-old school.

It is always nice to see where excellence is created.

Thanks for sharing,
Chris

You need the iPhone 4. It takes great pictures....:p

I couldn't agree with you more, they are fine people. Thanks for the peek. I love that manual pantograph...where the magic happens.

Did you forget to post what did you steal from the candy store or were the cops in the lookout?
