I have been having a lot of trouble with these tips recently. Is it normal for them to come spongey out of the box?
I used a triangle tip for the first time about 9 months ago and it was the best tip I had ever used. It held its shape, held chalk, hit pretty stiff, and grabbed the cue ball well. It was the most reliable tip in my experience, which helped me to better trust my stroke. The last two or three that i've tried, however, feel like they are playing stiff on top and soft underneath. I dont know how the cue ball will come off, because the hit of the tip is seemingly ever changing. I haven't thought of any better way of describing it. What i'd like to know, is how others prepare, apply, and dress their triangle tips.
Thanks in advance.
