can you do the kamui shots?

hahahahah... this is why I normally don't post on here.... it turns the wrong way so fast... I didn't come on here to insinuate anything, or impress anyone, or anything.. just to maybe enlighten you..

have fun in your small world

you didn't come on here to insinuate anything? just figured while you were here you might as well?

enlighten me? all you've done is act like a jerk.

just so we're clear i never said "look at these shots! you must be a good player to be able to pull them off". i never insinuated that these were a prerequisite for being a good player. i just said i thought they were cool.

once again.. drawing the length of the table is not extreme... I used to practice this everyday to build up my stroke.

we are on totally different wavelengths and skill levels, and its a little difficult to communicate ideas on the internet... I would rather show anyone in person then continue bantering on this dead horse..

hay it's clear you play better than i do i'll give you that. that doesn't mean drawing the table length isn't extreme. just because you can do it doesn't mean it's not extreme. there's a reason you don't see it being done in pro matches a lot. it's because instead of doing the routine table length draw shot players choose to do the more routine "get closer to the ball" shot.

i bet you don't come across like an ass at all in person. maybe it's just the way you type

Just because you think something is extreme doesn't mean that's the way everyone percieves it. Maybe your skill level enables you to see some wonder in things that are mediocre. If your surround yourself with others like yourself, you can all sit around and marvel at the wonders of a reverse spin pool shot. (<------- this is sarcasm.... most likely to be taken as being an ass)

Yes, the full table draws are definately the hardest shots in that particular library, but the rest of the shots there are honestly, fairly routine.

The reason you don't see it that much is because players normally don't leave themselves this position and only get this on an opponent's error. you make it sound like this is the preferred way to shoot this position.. its not for sure. (I may go back and edit all my posts and insert a smiley where I was being sarcastic, so those who don't get the humor don't think I am an ass) oh... :)

You can think anything of me you want.. I am not an ass at all, but there is a perceived lack of humor and sarcasm in posting on the internet which normally dictates that most interactions like this one usually end with someone getting their feeling hurt.

...and truly, I thought that if someone posted videos of themself on the internet shooting shots, this would be considered vain and trying to show-off. Hence, I have no need for this and now it is being asked of me to prove I can shoot a couple of shots. ????? The internet makes no sense... If you try to show someone something, it is understood that you are being brash and condescending, and if you try to conceal knowledge, you are trying to scam someone. There is no winning...

I may go take a video of these shots, just for you... :)
Any other requests??? I can draw frozen on the rail.... whatever... let me know.. haha

man i love how arrogant you are. "My skill level allows me to see wonder" in mediocre shots. you don't even know how i play but you sound so sure i can't play a lick. i've been playing for about 7 years and i get out every now and then
"you make it sound like this is the preferred way to shoot this position". no i didn't. in fact i'm pretty sure i said as much earlier

Yeah, super arrogant.. that's actually the furthest thing from my real persona.

If I had come on here and said my name was Mika or Shane or Cory or something you know and I stated I could make those shots and that I thought they were pretty easy, you guys would be swooning to just have my attention. Instead, all I get is mockery, and "oh yeah's" and such.

That's fine... anyone who knows me knows I am very sarcastic but I have taught almost every player in and around Orlando, not even for personal gain, but because I like to see people get better. I started off this conversation pointing out that you don't need a Kamui tip to make any of these shots, but that reference was passed over as people look for ways to discredit me. I did not leap first, but I will retaliate if I try to say something and just because you don't believe me, I'm a liar.

Maybe someday I will do a video of some superbly executed stroke shots just for the record, but then I would be criticized for trying to show off. ...can't win on here..

Can do them all.

And i can say that and i didn't play on the IPT either.

For real man, any decent player with a saucy stroke is gonna do these.

Hardest ones for me are at the end cause i just miscue and send the ball sailing, but when i finally connect, it's not that hard.

Give anyone a camera where they can take a billion attempts and then edit out the failures so that they look like champs, and i'm sure you will see some stone cold hacks pulling these shots off.

It's not a matter of if you can do them. To a decent player, it's a matter of just doing it, and with shots like that last one where he draws it into the hole, it's not if you can do it, it's how many tries till you do it.

"If I had come on here and said my name was Mika or Shane or Cory or something you know and I stated I could make those shots and that I thought they were pretty easy". you're likening yourself to mika, shane or cory. if they came on here and said they could do those shots and they were easy i wouldn't be surprised. one of the strongest players in the world says they can do them i'd say "that figures".

i didn't realize everyone on here was supposed to assume that you can do what some of the strongest players in the world might consider easy. all you had to do was come on here and say you play as well as mika, shane or corey and..... you're upset because we didn't assume you can do whatever strong pro players can do:eek:. i'd believe Greg prefontaine if he said he could run a 5 minute mile. that doesn't mean i'd give that much credit to anyone that says "oh that's not that hard"

"I started off this conversation pointing out that you don't need a Kamui tip to make any of these shots". i wouldn't swoon for anyone's attention. i'm no fanboy.

that had men established at least twice before you posted anything here.

and of course you sneak in the obligatory self compliment with the, " I have taught almost every player in and around Orlando" bit

i'm getting the feeling your ego stroke is better than your cue stroke

that video pulls up the Pro Skills Video, which is odd by itself, but... eh, whatever.

He's(Mr.Wheeler) the one pulling all the shots in the Pro Skills Video LOL...Yes, he's a hell of a shot. I watched the entire video...and he's way above your average shooter...

The problem with communicating on a forum is that everything is understood via black and white...and not in color, which shows emotions or expresssions...so, I don't think he was trying to be a smart ass, rather...as he said...talking from his level of play...those shots come easy...
You got a hell of a stroke man...one that I can only wish to achieve someday...Keep up the hard work!!

As for the tips? I'm on a list for some Soft Browns and Blacks...:grin-square: Thought I'd give them a shot!!!

Thanks.. I appreciate that...

it is difficult in the forums... I really have no need to come on here and gloat or belittle anyone, but it seems that when I say something, I am met with automatic disregard. This just starts a series of mis-read posts and unintentional insults. I am a huge supporter of pool and of helping people get better at pool (not a self-promotion, ego stoking remark).

The ProSkill Drills volume 6 is doing quite well. I enjoy one-pocket above all games and wanted to share my knowledge while I can. I developed all the drills on the dvd and of course, shot them all. I am working on a couple more instructional videos, but haven't pinned down the format yet. Also, Mika's new video really set the bar high visually so I want to make a comparable product.

Sort of on topic... I just switched (after 20 years) from a Triangle tip to a Kamui Black medium and so far i like it. It actually plays a tad harder than my previous Triangles but generally, about the same spin wise and sound wise. I am hoping it will be a little more consistent.

i've run into 3 people that have used them and had them start glazing over on them after a few months of use.

ps. coming on here and assuming everyone is some bar bum who can't "draw their rock" isn't really unintentional

Don't let him get to you. The Kamui shots are not hangers. For virtually everyone, it takes time, patience and dedication to be able to stroke a cueball consistently.

I don't think very many people would ever say they are easy. On an objective scale in pool, they rank closer to the hard end.

Yeah... no one else came on and posted that they could do any of them... In fact, several people way before me said they could do them without too much difficulty, then when I say basically the same thing, I am criticized. I don't mean our interactions as of late, but my early posts.. All I said is I thought they were pretty easy.

ok.. I will follow the crowd and oohhh and ahh at them and say that I can only do maybe 1 of them if I am hitting the ball real well...

If I recall, the title of your OP was "Can you do the Kamui shots"

Should i say "yes" and leave it at that ... or say "yes, but they are super hard?"..

This is a public forum and my opinion is that they aren't that difficult. If you don't agree, then that's well within your privledge, but I still think 99% of them are routine shots. sorry.

nobody else came across as arrogant as you. none of those shots are routine. unless you play shape that bad

we can't all be you though. hay running a 5 min mile isn't that hard either. in fact it's pretty routine

hay i'm just curious what would you consider impressive?

I see you want to just keep egging this on....

I wasn't the least bit arrogant until you started being an ass and doubting I could do anything, just because you can't.

Implying I play shape that bad as the reason I can shoot these shots is totally ludicruis. I just happen to be able to play pool well and have dedicated much of my life doing it. As soon as you can do more than two of the shots, let me know.

Maybe you should have entitled your thread as such:

Can you do these kamui shots? and if you can or think they are easy, don't post in my thread because I think they are totally amazing and can't do any of them, and am jealous of anyone who can do them.

You have a curious notion that this forum is only for people with the same skill level as you. Well, lo and behold there are people who play better than you who have every bit as much right to post here too, and if the lower players want to stay there, keep driving us off. I had no attitude towards you until you started, so don't insinuate I was in any was insulting or arrogant initially. You are wrong.
