I wrote this thread once before and decided not to post it because I did not start coming here to make enemies, I now feel like I should post it and also be the first one to try to abide by it. The catalyst for this thread was the thread about overrated players, in the original list was former World Champions and a roster of some really great players. I never did figure out who was overrating them but it made me think of the myriad of posts I have read here and how it seems that a lot of the Azer's think 4 inch pockets are too big , the Kamuii trick shots are a piece of cake and some have not missed a ball in the last decade, I also enjoy playing chess and I have to tell you those guys can spot you all the 7 ball in bs but please gentlemen {and ladies} before hitting that submit button reread your post and delete the fantasy parts. If you don't have a video of you doing it or cannot produce one if questioned by your peers, please try to keep your enthusiasm in the world of reality. If you can do it , by all means post it on You Tube and I will be the first to congratulate you. There nis the possibility that everything that has been said has been 100% true , then I guess I will be apologising to everyone in another post.

I personally appreciate your opinion here, but I don't think its going to draw a whole lot of water. Forums such as these and the internet in general provide people a medium where they can feel powerful and untouchable. An escape from monotiny and normality.

my internet opinion of my pool game gives my real pool game the orange crush...haha

I do think a bit of reverence from the majority of the crowd here might brings some of the pro players back on though. I personally wish Keith could have been treated a little better on here. Now thats a man that should write a book on his life in pool. I've noticed his girlfriend is a talented writer, maybe she could oblige. I'd buy it.
 
i hope you realize that if you want evidence you are going to shut down some90%of the conversation

it would be hard to believe your claim that chess players are full of more bull than pool players,

I haven't played anyone competitively in a long time. I was a pretty decent player.

I can spot Efren two pawns and a rook and he's supposed to play near or at grand master level. Now do you believe chess players are full of it. lol :grin:


EDIT: Opps I was posting when the name thing came up. Am I gonna have to start typing my name again? I quit cause I type slow.

Unfortunately I don't think any of this will happen, but I support your right to feel that way.

IMHO the thread on overrated players is too stupid for words, who's rating them, against what, against who and why? I have seen some players that are not playing as well as they used too, I have seen some who perhaps lost a match they should have won, some that have played bad safety, etc etc, but please overrated no.

I believe real names would be good, but unfortunately I don't believe a lot of people would use their real names or stick to just one name.

I agree with you to an extent, there are a lot of people that are kidding theirselves at times. Just don't get caught up in it and blow it off. There are some out there that I'm sure speak the truth, so then its a game of sorting it all out. Just take it with a grain of salt and don't worry about others so much.
