Johnny,
Even if Dennis doesn't win another tournament this year, my votes with him. He comes with his A game every match. If you use your logic, what has Charlie Williams done to deserve his place on the team? Johnny A, yes! Shane, yes! Rodney, yes! The last two spots are up for grabs. Based on last year's performance alone, Dennis should get one. If it comes to a vote again, my fingers on the vote button and it will stay there!
For many years, I wasn't a Dennis fan either. Strange how times change. He's a different person. Ask anyone who's around him. Isn't it wonderful what a good woman can do!

I have to admit I haven't been around him in many years, and maybe he has changed. When he stops all his sharking acts when he's down I'll think about liking him. Johnnyt

To be candid, I haven't watched a lot of Dennis Hatch's matches to say that he sharks when he is down in a match and I did hear a LOT OF BUZZ last year concerning Dennis's contribution to the Mosconi Cup Team and it was all good.
But I also think that it would be nice to ONE NEW, yet DESERVING player on the U.S. Mosconi Cup Team each and every year. You know, spread the wealth around a bit and bring in fresh blood. There are many other players who play jam up, who could make a valuable contribution to the U.S. Mosconi Cup Team.
If one NEW player is selected then my selection is Stevie Moore.....
The team is not started to be picked until after the US Open in October. I e-mailed Matchroom a little while ago about tickets and some other stuff and the format at that time was probably going to be:
1. BCA #1 Ranked Player - Currently Johnny Archer
2. BCA #2 Ranked Player - Currently Rodney Morris
3. Matchroom Pick - Thought was that it maybe a pass for the previous MVP but couldn't be confirmed just that it was a Matchroom Pick
4. Matchroom Pick
5. Fan Vote was the probable scenario
If my Math is correct JA cannot be knocked out of the top two and RM looks pretty safe in 2nd spot unless SVB wins and Rodney gets knocked out early on. However I cannot find out if they use the Total Points or Adjusted points, where you get to drop your worst finish from the ranking events, I believe it's Adjusted Points.
I that case I will stick my neck out that the first 4 players will be Archer, Morris, Hatch (previous MVP) and SVB (I can't see Matchroom leaving him out) the fifth player from any fan vote would probably consist of the next 8 highest ranked US players from the BCA Rankings. They are currently in order, Dechaine, Deuel, Williams, Mills, Davenport, Moore, Schmidt, Sossei. There are a lot of players below these that could possibly get into the vote with a really good showing at the Open.

I agree 100% that if an American player wins the Open and aren't already qualified, that they should get an auto invite, that's a great point.
Johnny whilst I might agree with you on that, I would not want that pick to then fall back to Matchroom, maybe they could take the top 3 from the BCA Rankings.
Mind you I can see the toher side of the argument coming already, last year's choice was Dennis Hatch and he turned out to be MVP!
