Got My Stroke Groover

Recently bought a Stroke Groover and thought i'd give some initial feedback.

1) it definitely keeps the upper arm from moving. as far as i am concerned it does what its intended to do.

2) however, i am having a hard time keeping the support cue from wobbling and moving around. thats the only negative part about it so far. i am 6'2" and when i lean over into the shot the support cue has to lean, and then it wobbles/moves and takes away from the moment.

just thought i'd offer my $.02. if one can keep that support cue from moving around then i would say this has been a nice purchase. i think RandyG just got one, perhaps he can chime in here.

not sure why there arent any responses to this post, perhaps its because this has been discussed in depth a while back, dunno. but anyway......

i noticed when i did set this up and hit some long straight in draw shots that i did better. the cue ball seemed to be coming pretty much straight back. and when i rolled the CB down the table it came back and hit the tip alot.

and i just got through playing a few racks. i broke 4 times, ran out twice, made the 9 ball once, and should have ran the other rack but i messed up on speed and that eventually cost me.

so, maybe there is something to keeping the upper arm still. maybe all that moving of the upper arm was what was throwing my aim/stroke off, causing me to miss shots and position. dunno, i guess only time will tell. could just be one of those things.

Nice to see ya still posting here! I have the stroke trainer & it helped me a lot. If Dr. Cue comes over for the Holidays I am sure he can help you out with your stroke!

yeah, i'd like to have my old buddy Dr. Cue over for another lesson. i miss those sessions, they were alot of fun. but i dont think he does individual lessons anymore, just group sessions, that sort of thing. at least the last time i checked thats what he was doing. maybe i'll check his website again.

right now i am waiting to hear from a woman (Debbie) as to whether we have a late date or not. if not, i am going to the casino at French Lick and do alot of "observation", if you know what i mean.

and I am just wondering what you posters think. all of a sudden i am playing alot better than what i have been lately. making shots that i would normally not have much of a chance. getting position. running racks. just ran another and missed another one because i ended up on the wrong side of the 5 ball.

anyway, can this Stroke Groover have made that much of a difference? something has happened all of a sudden, dunno what it is either.

p.s. Debbie called, we met. she knew me beforehand, and i saw pics of her. when we met, well, it was a lesson learned for me.
 
Well,

i don t know this *tool*, but it sounds that it is working for you-enjoy that for you. All tools and advices which helps you to straighten your stroke are much worth :)

I think its StrokeGroover.com but i am not certain. google/yahoo on stroke groover and you'll find it.

basically its a strap that fits over a 2nd cue that has a sling that attaches to your shooting arm. it holds the upper arm still while your elbow works as a swivel, allowing the forearm to swing like a pendulum. it helps simulate what the "Ideal" stroke should feel like.

But, what's the Debbie deal? You forgot you knew her? She forgot she knew you? This was a blind date? Once you two recognized each other-it was off?? What's the story? Did you show her the 'strokegroover' and she freaked out? Did the cops come? Did you go to jail? Did Debbie go to jail?

Debbie does....what?/who?/where?

If you mention Debbie in the same post as 'strokegroover'-you have to finish the story. Hell, make something up.

hmm...interesting....i do see how that support stick would be wobbly

looks kind of gimmicky though....perhaps something good for beginners, but not for advanced players. seems like it only really addresses upper arm movement....there are a lot of other components of a stroke that could be off

For sure some days with a good instructor is much more worth- i am also very sure that almost everyone knows it! I agree with you, that this *gimmick* is perhaps nice for a not so advanced player.

As i said- if it works for him-i m happy for him :)

yes, absolutely. should i ever marry one or date one steady, well, even i have standards. and two of those standards are no HUGE posteriors and if every other word out of her mouth starts with an F, S, H, D, etc, well, not my type.

besides, i am a happy man without that stuff in my life.

Well, OCD, I suppose you are entitled to your opinion. All I was saying is that it sounds fairly condescending and elitist to write someone off cuz their azz is bigger and they cussed a few times, no? I'm thinking it might be a lil hypocritical of you too, especially if, by chance, you are out of shape yourself. Wouldn't it be sad if you had a big gut, but was commenting about some chicks fat azz?
