Repair Lathe

I'm looking for a basic repair lathe. Just to do tips, ferrules, cleanings and wraps. I don't even need the foot control. That's how basic I need it. I'm actually looking to do a trade if anyone has a lathe they are willing to trade. What I have to trade is a 2010 Pat Diveney Brunswick conversion butterfly point jump break. 2 shafts, one flat laminated and the other is a purpleheart shaft. The butt is a 2 point butterfly splice, purpleheart into maple. Brand new cue. I have $600 in the cue and can add another $100 to the trade. PM me with emails for pics of the cue and what you have. I know this is unusual but all I have to get a lathe is this trade option at the moment. Thanks, Brian.

Not sure that $600 will get you very far, but you're probably better off selling the cue and offering the money for a repair lathe, as cuemakers can build their own conversions.
Do a search on the forum and you'll see the going prices for new and used rigs.

Don't do it! Cue repair will leed to wanting to build cues. From there, just open your wallet and ten thousand dollars + will fly out of it.

Yes, you would be better off selling the cue. Then you are just 9 grand + to feed your addiction!

And the chain of addiction continues. Next thing you know the OP will be whoring out his cues in front of some pool hall. Just to buy wood to feed his addiction. When with this ever end?

PMs replied to. I have actually been doing cue repairs for about 10 years now. I do the cue repair at Grady Mathews pool room here in Columbia. The machine he has in his room is really not up to par and want to get something of my own that I can travel around with. I have been unemployed since last May otherwise I would buy a lathe. Money is extremely tight. That's why I'm trying to work a trade deal. If it matters to anyone I have 100% Itrader feedback and 100% positive feedback on Ebay. I'm a trustworthy person to deal with and will gladly give references if needed.

PMs replied to. A couple of people told me I should just sell it and take the cash and buy a lathe. That would be the smart thing to do but honestly I don't want all the hassle right now. Nothing against anyone but I just don't want to deal with all of the questions and low ball offers. A couple more people said the cue might be worth more than a lathe. Which is fine with me. I don't mind giving someone the better end of the deal. As long as we're both happy everything is fine. Kepp the PMs coming with offers, I really need a lathe.
