I just wanted to pubically thank you for your effort on the stats. And thank you for the dry break stat being added. Its amazing how much better SVB has his break working than Mika, that stat will awalys be important for top players who figure to runout when they have a shot. Its not a improtant stat when there are 3 misses/game.
These stats on these matches are very important to pool, look at base ball they talk about stats constantly and old numbers to compair to the new numbers, who's doing what. This right here the stats gives people watching something more to talk about and that makes pool more watchable. Snooker works good because they way the scroing system during the game works and snooker is huge(i know its having trouble but thats not relivant here).
What the stats do is make a better product for the audience, and the better the product the more interest. I'd love to see the stats of alex vs Snane, to compair them to this match-I'm not asking you to go back and get them, thats not my point. My point is it would be intersting to see how SBV played then vs now with real numbers attached to his play, not just subjective opinions.
Accustats has done this for years. Pat Flemming is in the HAll of fame and deserves to be there, and is a friend of mine. I mention him because he has kept stats on overall play with a number .950 is great play .743 isnt gonna get the job done. His system is great for short races in tournments and I dont think he should change a thing.
But for long races to 100 that TAR has made successful, CaliRed's stats are a better format than what Mr. Flemming uses in his short races.
Mr.CaliRed's stats lend themselfs to long sets. So I applaude both Pat and Red. They have 2 great systems for 2 different formats of pool.
Here is my point(finally), the work CaliRed has put into keeping track of the stats,TAR's work and a whole bunch of other people have created a brand new high quality product that will perserve great matches for the future, Like Pat has as well. Things are just getting better and better for pool because of people working at making it better like CailRed, JCIN, Chad, Pat, Cardone, Jay etc.
Since this post is for CailRed and about him, thanks sir for adding one more "Big thing" to pool to make it better for everyone and for along time to come, fans love numbers. With streaming, Stats, and people willing to work hard pool aint going nowhere but up and getting better.thanks again.
