Watching the SVB vs Mika match has opened my eyes to how machine like these top pros are. IMO Shane takes this to a whole new level. It's amazing to see him control 4 or 5 object balls and the cue ball all on the break! Shane is shattering the natural defense of 10 ball which was supposedly a harder break! Now it's starting to look like 9 ball with Wu breaking. So the question is how do we rack 11 ball? :p

11 ball breaks real tough.

I'm surprised Hatch wants to play him.

I think what's going to happen next is he's going to have to play Filipinos and anybody else is going to need some weight.

....9-ball was to make the game more interesting for T.V. and in the seventies, it was going to be 7-ball. Now with all these top young U.S. players, back to 10-ball from the eighties. Before you know it, all these top American players will be playing "Rotation," like they played back in the 40's, here in the U.S.!

How long has pool been played in the Phillipeans again? Seems like it only took a couple of great players there, one generation to make Rotation, the gamblers game of choice in that country.
"What is it with that country and pool anyway?"

Nope........last pocket 8 ball.

Rotation is an incredibly skillful and fun game IMO. I actually am surprised that its not even mentioned with the usual one pocket, 14.1, banks, 9, 8 and 10 ball. Maybe it is time people start playing it more in the US. It certainly helps your skills in all games!

I don't think Johnny will play him unless it's at his home table. But hey, SVB just whooped Mika's ass on basically his home table, so that just might happen.

Started playing in 1948 at age 13. played 8 ball 1st,Chicago(rotation),bottle pool, straight pool, 9,ball, cribbage, all on 9ft table. 3 yrs. later was allowed in pool room and played all of the above on 10 ft. table and learned to play 3 cushion on a 10 ft billiard table. Had a high run on the 10ft of fifty three......younger players are missing out by only playing 9 ball(IMHO)

I would like to see Shane play Lee Van Corteza race to 100. That would be a hell of a match.

There was a nice video of them playing over seas and I think Shane lost. The referee couldn't stop picking at the table, it was so irritating. Good match though.

If they play, I pick Lee Van to win.

At this point if Shane dials in the break in he can not be beat unless he beats himself. Watching Shane live last night was scary. It reminded me of when I watched Mark Tadd gamble in 9 ball. If the guy he was playing crushed the break and had a road map Mark would just rack the balls and not make the guy shoot. I'm sitting in the chair after Shane breaks and I'm thinking Mika should just tell Shane to rack up. Why torture yourself and watch the guy tap in 7 balls. LOL

Key word here are Mark Tadd and "gambling". By raking the balls, you don't let your opponent get in stroke. Sure he gave the guy a game, but didn't let the guy shoot and get loose. It's a very common move for a gambler.

In tournament play, you can't rake the balls. This would result in forfeit of the next game also. These rules have been made for good reasons.

There are several players who can still give Shane trouble at that very same game - Ten Ball, Race To 100. Filipinos - Francisco, Lee Vann, Dennis and Alex. And they will play him! Americans - Only Johnny and Dennis Hatch. I would like to see Shane play either one of these guys.

You may just get your wish. On the stream last night Dennis Hatch called JCIN and said he would play SVB 10-ball TAR match in February. My two favorite American players. I can't wait!!!
