Ivory inlay question

I saw a cue on the forums that had an ivory inlay in the points and sleeve and it consisted of 2 spearheads pointed in opposite directions connected with a dot in the middle. What are these called? Thanks

I never would have seen the bat until you said it. And now there it is plain as day. "The bat" is a good call for that combo.

There are two elongated diamonds there. Spears curve like a pointed ellipse. With the dot in the middle, I call two spears (or two elongated diamonds) pointed away from each other a propeller, and two pointed towards each other a fan blade.

The cue maker is just using several easy to do inlays together to make a more involved inlay. It is done all the time with joint designs. Depending how you lay out the dashes and stagger them you can create chains, steps, brick designs and so on all from just simple dashes. I would not try to attach any deeper meaning to it then that. If you must though, it could be loosely considered the symbol for Infinity. So call it "The infinity design" to sound exotic. I have seen infinity designs that were not smooth sided. You also have to decide if it is to be viewed with the cue up right or in the playing position. This would change the concept and meaning of the design.
