Dump Gold Crown IV For Diamond?

Can someone tell me which Diamond table is the one thats sort of comparable to the Gold Crown? i recall playing on Diana Minor's Diamond table and it sort of looked like a Gold Crown.

And can someone also tell me what Diamond table is the one they use in the U.S. Open?

The Professional is the one that is kind of like a Gold Crown, and the ProAm is what's used in all the Diamond table supplied tournaments, unless they're coin operated, then they use the Smart Tables...which are the ProAm's....but coin-operated:grin:
 
Well i am thinking about getting rid of the Gold Crown IV and getting a Diamond. Just seems to me that this GCIV doesnt play as well as what it should. plus i dont like the cut of the side pockets and the way the side pockets spit balls out. and it seems to be a really bad breaking table.

I am less than two hours away from the Diamond Factory, down around the Jeffersonville/New Albany area. does anyone know if a guy can show up at the factory and play on some Diamond tables they have set up?

I've played on lots of GCs and a few Diamonds. Personally I haven't found a single GC that played like a Diamond. The Diamonds I've played on are all much more unforgiving. As for sidepockets spitting out balls? The Diamonds I've played on spit out balls much more often....in all of the pockets. That said....if I were buying a table I'd buy the Diamond because it makes me focus more on being accurate and when I go to other tables they are much easier to play on. But that's just my opinion.

Diamond don't really have tables setup to play on like in a breakroom or something, but....go ahead and drive down to the factory...it's at 4700 New Middle Rd, Jeffersonville, IN. 47130 Ph# 812-288-7556....go in the front door, where you'll be greeted by Debbie...a very good looking blond...who by the way keeps me up late at night sometimes...only she don't really know it:grin:....and tell her you'd like to speak with Aaron Berger about a Diamond table....tell her..."Realkingcobra" sent you....and Aaron will take care of your request to play on a Diamond table;)....no appointment needed. Just make sure you show up before 3:30pm...Mon-Thur...so Aaron can show you around the plant as well:grin:

Also...if the woman that greets you at the door has real curly hair, brunett...good looking as well...be careful....that's Greg's daughter....so, choose your words carefully...asking what I told you already...but, if you see her raise both her eyebrows....at the same time...tell her you're lost, and could she point you in the direction of the Brunswick factory:rotflmao1:...make sure you tell her...RKC sent you:rotflmao1:

ok, now this might be a very odd question, but here goes anyway......

i cant have two tables. anybody know if the Diamond people would work some kind of deal on a trade-in for the GCIV?

If you get a new table ask them to install some good rolls for you.

i'll probably just end up having new Simonis 860 Powder Blue put on my GCIV and not spend another $2K-$3K for another different table. the new cloth will make it seem brand new again.

but i sure would like to have a chance to play on a Diamond for an hour or so.

The cloth won't help much. You NEED a Diamond. Ask about a trade in model?

You can play on a Diamond Professional at Bank Shot in downtown Louisville or a place called Diamond's also in Louisville has 1 professional and 1 smart table.

Glen can make your gold crown play the same as a diamond with some modifications if you ask him nicely, I'm sure he travels rite by there all the time...

Well, i am going to go ahead and have my Indy mechanic put on new Powder Blue Simonis 860 this time. i am really starting to get the fever to play again.

however, the next time i want new cloth i'll consider some of these "Diamondizing" options for my Gold Crown IV.
