I would post this question in the 14.1 forum as well

I think you have to go by averages. you cant just base it on one run.

i would say you are pretty close though. i would add 2 racks to B and Above.

based on my runs, i dont believe i fall into the pro catagory. everyone is entitled to a good day or 2

I used to play straight pool a lot many years ago. Now that I know more, I'd say I was a C- player at the time. My high run was 28 or 29 balls during that time.

This is where I'd put the scale:

A = must run 100, no question on this.
B = 46 to 99 balls
C = 11 to 45
D = 1 to 10 balls

Disclaimer: these numbers are for someone who regularly plays straight pool, and would be their all time high numbers, not any sort of average.

Johnny,

If your question was "good chance of running this amount every time they stepped to the table", then I think your numbers are pretty good.

8-20 for C player is kindda broad. After 14 balls you will need to have ran a rack well to have a break ball to have 15+ run. And i know a lot of people who are capable of running around 10 balls, but the ones that can run 15+ are in a whole different level.

those #'s seem close johnny. The biggest difference is the all time high run and the daily average. Take me for example....my high run is 127, but I run 40's and 50's every day with bigger numbers sprinkled in when practicing. I hit an 86 yesterday! on my table which is a GC 9 footer and 4-3/8" pockets. A decent run.

We play a bunch of 14.1 up here in the north east, and I would be considered a pretty good 14.1 player. The top flight guys can put 100's on you at will almost. Though not like it was 15 years ago when it seemed like you couldn't spit without hitting a 100 ball runner up here :)
