Coker for sale

I have a Coker for sale, it is my buddy's and he wants it gone. It is what appears to be ebony with red and yellow veneer four pointer. This cue does have a slight wobble when rolled, I am not for sure it it needs facing or if it is warped. It weighs 19.3 oz and the shaft is 12.5mm. This cue could use a refinish but as is it is a great player. My friend wants 500 but I'm sure he would entertain offers. Thanks for looking.

Before you go any farther you need to find out what is wrong with the cue. Because if the butt is warped the cue is not worth even half what you are asking for it, because Coker Cues similar in design to this cue were selling for no more than $500 to $650 new.

Please have the cue checked out before you open a can of worms for yourself, if you sell this cue on this forum you are responsible for the sale and you will have to take the heat if the deal is bad.

way too much money for the shape of the cue. You can buy a new one like that for about the same price.. Especially with wobble.. U need to make sure its just in the shaft and not the pin or the butt, If your lucky its shaft and at best in that case you have a $300 cue

I rolled the cue on a pool table and the butt did have a slight wobble in the pin, so I can only assume it is warped. Although it is not alot it is still warped. As for the price I was just told what he wanted for it, what would you guys determine as a good price for it as is? Thanks for the input.

Unfortunately, what most of the guys are telling you is correct. I hate to inform your friend, but I would be up front with him. The Coker cue you have is one that they sell new for around $600-750 with 2 full 13mm shafts. The warp is a major factor, although it really won't affect play. It does affect price, etc.

Consider the following:

1. a refinish/rewrap will cost $150-175

2. if it is the pin that is bent, it will cost an extra $50 for repair

3. if the handle is warped, it will cost around $200-250 to replace

4. if the forearm is warped, forget about it

5. a second, full shaft from Coker will run around $150

Did you try rolling the butt and shaft seperately? Doing that will tell you if the butt is straight by itself.
