heres the deal my home location has a great 8' table. its out of a bar and gets used alot. the place claims the rails and cloth were done a year ago but i count at least 2 dead rails ( altough only the end part not the whole rail ) and the cloth has a hole at the spot. i"m in stoughton mass and wondering how much for the whole thing and how much for just a recloth. i think simonis is to swanky for a bar table but i aint buying cheap cloth either so can anybody help me out and even do it ( pending approval from higher ups )

I don't understand what you're wanting to know, are you asking about the cost of recovering this table...for the bar?...Are you asking the worth of this table....should you buy it? Pending approval from high ups??? What does that mean?....approval for what?...to sell the table...or put new cloth on it?

Simonis supports table mechanics bettering our way of work and knowledge of the industry, don't down talk simonis because that's probably why no one is helping you much' simonis is the leader in my book..other than that' your looking at about $5,500 for someone to come in and haul off that table you have and bring in a diamond..or if you don't want to go with the swanky cloth and save a few cents your looking at $985 for a rail and cloth job'... if you was to rephrase your words the price may drop a few bucks....
-good luck'

Don't be so snappy;):D

First I want to know cost of recovering the table. With and without redoing rails. Secomd pending approval means to board of directors for the club has to approve the expense. Third how the hell am I downing simonis I love siminis I just this its to highend for the table its going on. If you do the recoer you'll under stand what I mean. All I want is a great cloth to be put on this table.

First of all, I don't know what the going rate is for recovering a bar table in your area is, which really is neither here nor there...as I guess it's up to whom ever is signing the check. But, if I were pricing this job, my labor would be $175.00 plus materiels...."cloth"...and anything extra, like pocket liners, gully boots and such. Ridgeback rails are going to run you $175.00 if I have to buy them to replace the rails that are on the table already. The use of Simonis cloth has nothing to do with whom plays on the table as it'll hold up to whom ever is playing on the table, it's not a cloth used just for people that know how to play pool. So, if Simonis 860HR is used, then the cost of the cloth during recovery is going to run an additional $200.00.

Bump for more oppinions

What kind of table is this? Coinop? Brand?

If you have 2 dead cushions they will still be dead with new cloth so this problem needs to be addressed first.
The cushions or rails could be loose which is an easy fix - won't know until someone knowledgeable takes a look.

If it's a coin-op table and the cushions are bad then it's cost effective to get a replacement rail set from Ridgeback or Penguin
rather then redoing just the rubber. If you think Simonis is too pricey there are other worsted cloths that play pretty comparable for less money.

On labor, $175 as mentioned by Glen is around the average for a straight recover of a coin-op table regardless of cloth type.

More Opinions?

Well, the best mechanic on the forum just gave you a cherry deal. Dude... Instead of questioning him, you should have booked the deal.... He has been out west for like four months.

By the time he gets back east and IF he takes the job, you'll likely have plenty of time to work out the financing.

We should ask Glen if he has people waiting for his services. I bet there is a line literally from coast to coast.

As my Drill Sargent use to say, "Bend over... Reach up! Grab both ears! AND YANK DOWN! (dislodge head from anal cavity)

Book the deal FastEddie before he leaves your area. Offer to buy him a steak. You may have your table finished by 2nd qtr... 2011.

Good luck. Your not at McDonald's.

Fair enough

Please forgive my ignorance

Glen if you read this please get back to me as I would like to talk with you about getting tgis deal done.

Thanks to every one for their input

You still haven't said the table model or if this is a coin-op table - but if it is a coin-op they don't require rocket science or a master mechanic to re-rail or recover.

First off, I wasn't taking the job, I simply stated that "if I" were to do the job...second, I'm about 1,000 miles from you...and your table is in someone else's backyard so to speak, so not trying to be negative or anything...I wouldn't step on someone else's toes to do this job...I was simply answering your questions, and as Dartman asked already...is this table you're talking about a coin-op, as I assumed it was....or is it something else....because that would for sure change my pricing.

If you are looking to get this job done, then by all means contact Jay with A1billiards as he can for sure take care of your needs as well.
