I love this cue

Ya know, I've been playing for 50 years. owned a pool room and loved the game. Custom cues just never did it for me. For me it was alway the cue's balance, weight, shaft taper, and tip. Beyond that, much as I love the game, I never gave a custom cue a second look.

I don't think I'd ever have enough cash to allow a custom cue that high up on my priority list of things to buy, but .........

This cue however, just hits me as a real beauty. I don't know why, and I know nothing about custom cue makers, or what others have to say about this one in particular, but I love this cue. I just happened upon it looking through the catalog.

It holds the unique distinction of being the only cue, after seeing zillions of cues, that actually gives me pause to really look at it and enjoy it for it's look.

I think it's the brown and contrasting light colors. Very nice.

Ah, so you like the "Downey brownie." :D

Seriously, I agree with you -- that is a really well done cue, aesthetics-wise. Not overdone. The only thing I'd change on it (if it were a perfect world) would be to get rid of the white/black-speckle Irish Linen wrap, and replace it with either a standard leather wrap, or else an "Impression"-style stack leather wrap (maybe brown with light-tan marbling -- or perhaps the reverse).

Anyway, nice taste in cues!

I like that cue also, but like others, the black/white wrap has got to go! I'm for the brown/tan stacked leather wrap on that cue.

I once coveted a Troy Downey cue. I wanted a custom "player" but just couldn't justify paying the big bucks for one.

it's pretty much unanimous...

The wrap is the weak link.

If you like leather, tan or brown stacked would be the nutz...

If you are like me and prefer linen, white (or tan) with brown specks, or visa versa, would look superb.

That particular floating point design is understated and, indeed, elegant. :thumbup:

Nice cue & I agree about the wrap. The good news is that Troy works closely w/Muellers so he may switch the wrap out for you if interested. Contact them and ask.

Good luck if you decide to pull the trigger. (After 50 years you finally find a cue you like...go for it)!
