These are not unique colors for a Gus cue. I have seen several others and mine has the same veneers. The only picture that does those colors justice is the third picture. The mahogany and purple complement each other to become more like a single color, more of a blood red. They do not look like separate colors except at close distance.

Beautiful refinish (no surprise). Normally, I prefer cues without inlays. But this may be the most elegant cue I've ever seen.

Greg,
I stated that (Blk, Mahg, Purple and Wht) were unusual colors.
Since you have stated they aren't, I guess I will get a little more into detail for you..
(Blk, Mahg, Purple, and White) made up approx 5% of the cues Gus made, I'd say unusual, or Rare would fit.

Gus did about 9 color combinations that were more popular, in order.
Blk,Mahg,Gn,Wht
Blk,Wht,Blk,Wht
Blk,Org,Gr,Wht
Blk,Red,Blk,Wht
Blk,Bl,Gr,Wht
Blk,Mahg,Bl,Wht
Double Blk,Gr,Wht
Double Blk,Bl,Wht
Double Blk,Mahg,Wht

Just wanted to let you know Gus didn't use purple that often.. Only time you could get it was in this combination, or in a titlist combination with purple on the outside, which is the rarest (Made by Gus, not a convertion Blank)

Ken Kerner

Yours has the exact veneer colors/order as my old Spain - any chance this is a Spain blank?

Ken,

Sorry, my bad. I wasn't intending to question your statement. Sounds like mine is unsual or rare.

Best, Greg

Not to derail, but is there such a thing as a Gus with a Spain arm?

Thanks

Kevin

thats a good question, my guess is no. This cue sure isnt thats a fact. This is a real nice Gus, they all are for that matter. Its better to have this one cue than 3 $5,000 cues-thats a fact as well.
