Tascarella Questions

I'm foaming at the mouth to own a Tascarella. I would think that in this economy there would be a lot of them for sale. No such luck. This proves to me what kind of cues that are.
I do have a few questions about Tascarella Cues:
Does Pete still use Balabushka's shop equipment to make cues?
Are the brown bumpers still from Balabushka's stock?
How many cues does Pete make a year?
Does his son work with him? If so, what year did he join?
Is Pete easy to deal with when ordering a cue, or have other work done?
In general, do his cues have that old school feel...a little heavy in back?

I am not able to answer the technical questions but Pete Sr. is one of the nicest people I have ever talked to. Very knowledgable (as expected) and very helpful.

Yes and no. The original lathe is still in use, but Pete has expanded the shop well beyond George's original equipment.

Are the brown bumpers still from Balabushka's stock?

Doubt it.

Does his son work with him? If so, what year did he join?

Pete Jr. has worked in the shop since he was in high school. If I can dig up the article, I'll get you the dates. Pete Jr. is a major part of Tascarella cues.

Is Pete easy to deal with when ordering a cue, or have other work done?

From an easy to deal with pov, definitely. I've never ordered a cue from him, but I've never heard bad things either. And the cue world is pretty small.

During my order process I spoke to Pete Sr. and Jr. multiple times. They were both a pleasure to work with. I am making an assumption based on the conversations I had, but it seems Pete Jr. is playing a very big role if not 1/2 of the production.

The cue they built for me turned out perfect and yes they have that old School kinda ping. :thumbup:
