My Undercover Assignment

Hello all, it's been awhile but I have been buried at work and have also conducted an experiment in the pool world.

I recently just rejoined the APA under an assumed named (Bill Yard) to see just how different the league was from what I am used to playing, the BCA.

First let me say how impressed I was with the number of people who have heard my name before and played me at one time or another.

Secondly, my "Fats" cue with "lava" in the butt was a dead give away that I was a sandbagger. When I made 2 balls in a row, you should have heard the uproar. I was able to tone it down by saying "that's billiards" and they would reply, "why do you keep saying your name" and forget what they were complaining about.

The most confused my opponent got is when I kept turning the cue ball so the red dot was facing me. I told him it was legal as long as my laser hit the middle of the dot and I did not burn a hole in the cloth.

That is just a start, stay tuned.

Happy Holidays

Dan

I have had that happen once. Talk about being a dork about things. :sorry:

It has only happened to me at Nationals... I think twice in singles and once in teams... But knowing what goes on with how seriously some people take the APA and winning at all costs, I can see why they do it in higher level tournaments. Doesn't really matter to me with the handicaps in APA, because, I either play better and win matches or don't play well and lose. The handicap there just really matters with how long I have to play well, or how long I have to "warm up" before I lose if I'm not playing well :)

I was astonished at all the parolee id's I had check during my ventures.

Glad to see you back.
With you and the Tramp missing I had to rerun my Dangerfield tapes.

...well,actually Black Balled eased the pain a bit

Just checked in the APA national player database. There is no "Sandy Bagger" or anything close listed, either current or purged.

Might you be referring to some other league? Not that we care. LOL.

Ha you think it's bad after a 2 ball run. Wait till the 8 is heading for a hole on the break. All hell breaks loose it's total pandimonium I tell you. They start ranting about sand and calling the LO to shove you up a few. It's insane I tell ya.

BTW New it is totally good to see you back. I missed the Monkey. Glad you're home.

Hmmmm

Yeah, been a long time since I seen any posts from Monkey Boy ! Welcome back MB.

I heard a rumor that a bad banana put you out of commission for awhile. But I'm sure your vet told you to rest and relax, and whatever you do, DON"T start any threads if you mention the APA in a negative light, even if joking a little bit. Because before you know it , "justadub" will be showing up and telling everyone your a bad monkey and how we are all "snobs" because we only dis the APA because it is successful......I WARNED YOU !!!!!!!!! Now go take your medicine and get some more rest, and please, for the sake of your health, don't ever mention the APA again.

PS: Hi Dub ! Just in case I'm not here when you arrive :)
