Chalk On Measle Ball?

I have the same problem with that cueball. I also wonder why its a little bigger than the red circle... You think they would have made them the exact size and weight...and surface material for that matter. hmm.
I have both type of balls and it is a huge problem on the two measle balls. Johnnyt
I haven't tried using my measle ball lately but I have noticed that my Aramaith Super Pro cue ball picks up marks when I use Master's blue chalk (just bought a dozen, so they're new). Very little with Master's green chalk (which is about 3 years old). Is it my imagination or has anyone else noticed a difference in chalk leaving marks? (Don't mean to steal your thread). I'll try the measle ball tomorrow and post the results
I use the Aramith ball cleaner and don't really have a problem with chalk marks on the measle ball. It might be you the chalk your using.
I would be interested to know if it's just the Master's Blue. That would be strange if it was only Master's Blue being it's by far the leading seller of chalk in the world. Johnnyt
Interesting. I'm pretty OCD about wiping the cueball off, but I'll have to pay a little better attention.
Where I play we've given up on measle balls.
Going back to blue and red circles or the Saluc logo balls.
The measles just aren't the same quality and the red circles on the ball
are developing flat spots.
..and they're in the Saluc packages so I don't think they're counterfeit

I have both (types) measles balls, both from Aramith, not the Chinese spotted ones. The newer new (batch) is whiter and DOES leave chalk marks on it. The new older kind are more ivory colored (yellowish) and they DO NOT mark up with chalk. It is ARAMITH changing their formula (probably trying to make them cheaper)!

I use a product I forget the name of for motorcycle windshields that Mr. 400 recomended. It's out in my shed and it's cold out. I also have the Arimith spray cleaner that came with one of my sets of balls. I use Meguier's polish about every other time...but just a few drops in the ball cleaner. Table is out on patio so I clean the balls a lot in the summer time (very humid) (Tampa, FL). Johnnyt

I use the Aramith polish in my home made bucket polisher and I don't have any issues with chalk on my measles cue ball... I also for every other time thru the polisher I just spray it lightly with windex. That tends to add moisture to the Aramith polish in the buffing pad as well as doing a little bit of extra cleaning.

Mine is white as well, not sure if that is the issue. I also use blue Masters chalk exclusively.

As probably 90% or more on here know it's not the fact that there are blue spots on the QB, it's the fact that the blue is chalk and will cause cling between the QB and OB to throw the shot off where it's aimed. But you knew that i'm sure

Johnny, that's the reason I take the cue ball after every rack and rub it on my shirt to wipe off any...anything!
