Simple !
When you hit the 1-ball you are cutting it a bit to the left. Hence the Cueball goes to the right.
Don't ! Hit it square and the cueball will come back in the same direction !
It's what I call crossing over. Corssing over to the other side of the 1-ball.

Right: hit the center of the 1-ball as viewed from where you place the cue ball -- not the center as viewed from the head-spot.
I use this break almost all of the time for 9-ball. Oldzilla is correct in saying when you're coming through the CB you're putting left english on it which would cause it to go right just like having deflection on a standard shot. Occasionally this will happen, try to have a more solid base/stance when you're breaking (make sure you are well balanced especially if you are smashing the rack). Sometimes it helps to slow your break speed down and then gradually increase it. Hope this helps.:thumbup:
