Titlist questions

I have my first titlist one piece cue. I have a few questions that I hope some of you guys who have and had converted before.

What can I expect to pay to have the cue converted? I am thinking wrapless, ivory joint, ivory, hoppy ring, 2 shafts. I know it will be different with who does the work, but I am looking for price ranges of what to expect.

Also looking for some idea on above. I like the simple, smooth look, but want it be a nice titlist. Not to old school, (like palmer style)

who would you recommend to do the conversion for me? With price, resale, and playability all inconsideration.

Manwon(Craig) on here post some nice pics of some of the conversions he's done!! I think his prices are reasonable as well!!! Manwon if you see this you better green rep me lol j/k!!!

KEnny Murrell !!!!!

Kenny Murrell did a great job converting my wrapless purpleheart titlist. I would not hesitate to deal with him.

Good luck with your conversion and please post pics once it is done.

i know he is not as well known but Roland Becker does GREAT work i have seen several conversions he has done and anybody who has ever owned/played with one of his cues would agree with me. I have NEVER heard a bad thing about his cues, he has great prices guarantees his work and can do it in a timely but quality manner. You can find him in the blue book of pool cues if you would like to see some of his work under Becker cues

I contacted Scott Gracio about converting a titlist a while ago. He was very accomodating. I didn't end up getting it converted at the time (still have the one piece waiting), but based on my experience with him, I will definitely have something done with him in the future.

Mike Webb did my wrapless titlist with 2 shafts. I can't say enough about the quality of his work. Mine has become my daily player.

I was also wondering what does it cost to have one of these conversions done? I know it can vary, but just a range would be appreciated.

Here's my perspective.

If you are going to have it done, have it done by a top tier cuemaker. There are only about 5 or so that I consider a top maker.

Yes, everyone and their brother can do this conversion. But most are done by lower tiered makers and while they make a fine playing cue, return on investment is poor at best. So you can spend $1000 or so getting conversion done, and have a tough time if you ever want to sell it for 75% of that.

Get it done by a top maker, and it will turn out great and return at least what you have in it when you want to turn it......

question

I HAVE A QUESTION does a titlist if it starts out as a 1 piece, have to have the origional shaft of can the cue make who made it make a shaft???

Seems like I'm the first cuemaker to post so here it goes. Depending on what cuemaker you choose costs cany vary. For anyone to give you an estimate not being a cuemaker is just plain ignorant. I charge 750$ to convert. 2 shafts ivory ferrules. I'm sure bill schick is a bit more.

As far as being one piece some conversions can't be one piece. Some are too skinny at the joint and need to have buttsleeves added to meet specs. Being wrapless helps bc you don't have to worry about where your points end up as much.

Your best bet is do some homework. Find tour maker and ask him what needs to be done. Most maker want to see the blank before they will do the work. Some just aren't worth converting.

Hope this helps

Wow

Maybe i have misunderstood some of the opinions expressed here.
I am not not trying to start an argument or pi$$ anyone off but i don't get it.

Dave sutton.
If you are not a cue maker you should not give a guy an idea of how much something is going to cost him if he is interested in having a conversion done??? He wanted a ball park figure. If you have had a conversion done or have explored having one done, you probably have an idea (ball park) of how much one will be.

Ken 4fun .
If you cant afford to have it done by one of a few cue makers dont bother having it done??? There would not be many custom cues owners if every one lived by those standards.

Is that really what you meant?

When taken in context of what Dave had said, SLIM's question makes perfect sense!
