How many growth rings at the joint does your playing shaft has ?

main shaft 13
second shaft 15
third shaft 15

Are you just trying to get a feel for how yours stack up? For a typical sized joint, 14 rings showing is about 16-17 rings per inch. That is higher than average, though not exactly extreme. Most production shafts won't have that much, and many customs will not either. The typical answer will likely be about 9.

Thanks kelly

I got lucky !!! Main shaft and butt was won in a Christmas Party Raffle :). Cue hits like a brick wall !!! Butt had a leather wrap which I did not like, so I asked the cuemaker to make an exact copy same woods less the leather wrap, Second shaft and third came from that purchase.

So dose mine 40-50 and i have also a old one piece titlist shaft made for my cue
love it
Chris

I made one of mine out of an 1890's house cue front (Shaft), and I used a 1920's for the other playing shaft, I always check out the fronts when I cut these old cues for conversion you never know what you may find!!
