Jim Meador

Jim...I met Jim Meador 15 years ago, out in Newport News, VA. He brought Charlie Williams over to The Obilisk Billiard Club to introduce him to me, while I was in the area doing exhibitions. This was before Charlie was a big time pro player. Jim was well educated on pool, and extremely sociable and friendly. He steered me several lessons, for which I was grateful. He either had, or was part of a billiard supply there. Jim used to post a lot on the Cue Chalk Board, which was the forum of choice before this one came online (there was always RSB, but it was the wild west over there, with no moderators). Sadly, he passed away far too young!

That is the first time I have ever seen that. I am thoroughly impressed with the time it took to put that wealth of knowledge together.

I think anyone struggling with issues in their game should visit this website!

Jim was a great guy. I had many great phone conversations with him, and I was shocked when he passed away. You would be hard pressed to find a smarter, wittier person in RSB back in the day. I read Jim's stuff every day (STILL) because he had a way of communicating and teaching where you'd be laughing so hard you'd piss your pants, but you'd NEVER miss the lesson. I miss him a lot. He was awesome.

Wow it sounds like Jim was everything his stories and website suggest he was. I remember RSB well although I only lurked. When I re-read this site it brings me back to my early days on the web and discovering that I was not the only pool junky in the world lol. Thanks for the feed back guys.
