Lately I've been going back through some old threads, reminiscing about our old friend !Smorgassbored, who entertained us for years until he passed. He's been gone about two years and a few days. I received contact from Barbara recently and she is doing reasonably well and has moved on with her life but still misses Doug like we all do.

I went through some old threads going back as far as 2008 and discovered many good posts by individuals that I don't always see eye to eye with. I miss a lot of posts and threads because they just kind of fall off my radar screen. .... I kind of fly through the Main Forum and my subscribed threads, stopping to reply whenever my hot button is pushed or when my whimsy kicks in. But for the most part, I miss a great deal of posts on many subjects and even fail to see where someone has encouraged me to respond and I didn't. My apologies to any of you whom I didn't respond to. I jump in and out of the forum while working and don't read as much as you would think, so discovering some nice replies and statements by some of the naysayers and others was a pleasant surprise.

Anyway, you might take enjoy taking a trip down memory lane and read some of the old threads and posts. Sure, you'll find some of the angst but you'll find some of the brotherly love I occasionally talk about too. :) If you look hard enough you might even discover how much we all love pool in spite of our differences.

If all of us (including me) spent a little more time trying to be respectful of those with a difference of opinions, the forum would be better off.

The truth is that we are never going to all think alike and variety truly is the spice of life.

Good shooting to all of you.

Amen, Sista.

Too much sadness and difficulty in the World to fail to seize happiness when it is available.

Awwwww How Nice!

Good post Joey, lots of wisdom in it, we all are human, each one of us feel different from day to day and we make our way to this forum looking for something, well I would say looking for the essence of this game we all love Billiards, and we all strive in our own way to make it something that is to be honored, and looked highly upon by each of us, makes us feel alittle better about ourselvies giving to the game the best way we know how, and believe you me everyone that post on this forum is apprecited. AZBilliards is a Wonderful place!,

I know I sound like I'm bragin about things sometime, but I'm telling what I was seeing and living at the time it was going on, when we do get to see our game played by that anyone certain individual that has given so much of themselves to the game for special moment's that the game was played with Perfection, it gives us a wonderful feeling.

Okay, I'm a newbie, and I try not to weigh in all that often. In this case I will as I have to second the OP.
Opinions tend to be value laden. And I really don't think you'll ever find two people who have the same set of values. It isn't hard to find someone with compatible values, but finding two who share the exact same values strikes me as impossible.
I also think perspective is important. My (or your) opinion may make someone else's seem crazy, while in fact, both may be reasonable. Find someone who stands in the center on an issue, and people on the opposite ends of the spectrum won't see that person as centered.
It's amazing what I can learn from others when I keep an open mind, no matter how hard it is sometimes. And I swear that we all can learn something from everyone we cross paths with.
Off my soapbox now....

Great points, Karl. Especially the newbie one;). Kidding...

But your post really does encapsulate one of my life beliefs that is certainly also true of AZB: All degrees of all things exist. From one extreme to the other and all points between, they must share the Planet (and AZB).

JoeyA, you have out done yourself with this thread! It is Great! Means a lot to the people that understand the subject.... And the sincere effort you are putting forth in this thread. And when you include yourself in the not being respectful of other people opinions! That takes the cake!

This thread is real Deep and apologetic to an extent. I guess I should stop here! Enough said by me. Thanks again JoeyA, for such a Wonderful post!
Regards,
Lock N Load.

Nice post! Hope you're doing well my friend.

Doing really well Ed, unless those Calcutta buyers are reading this post, then my back hurts, my eyes are blurry and the wife is mad at me for going to another tournament so soon.

I regularly use your hypnosis CD to relax. I also do the auto relax thing when I am playing almost every match. Thanks for your professional help.

Thanks,
JoeyA

Joey, I know exactly what you mean. I hardly ever post on this thing, yet it is surprising how much time I spend on here just reading. You can spend a couple of hours or more reading a few long threads before you know it.

Dudlock,
I try to keep up with the threads I am interested in but it really is becoming difficult even with the feature selections that each of us can make because we are registered in the forum

This is a great reason for the true LURKERS to register and get yourself a screen name. (You can use your real name or a made up one). The biggest benefit is you can subscribe to the thread you are interested in and it just pops up whenever someone posts in that particular thread.

AZBilliards is the best Billiard forum in the WORLD! yeeeehawwwwwwwwwww!

I remember a time when I was 18th on the rep list and only had about 2,000 rep points. LOL It took me over a year to get my first 2,000. :)

I miss a lot of the old posters from years ago.
