Congrats to John Schmidt

We all know John is one of the best in the business of professional pool. His ability in 14.1 is nothing short of incredible. For whatever reason he didn't play his best , it was to be sure , a combination of things . Though one might have a more profound impact than other. It takes time to get use to a new cue. The hit , sound , feel. All these things are what makes it part of the person using it. I have read or heard somewhere that it usually takes up to 3 months to get use to a new cue. Hats off to John and D.A . Wish the match would have been 200 though. He just needed to find his rhythm.

Just want to say that the night before I finished playing at midnight after 13 hrs playing straight in the 10ball so I ended up with 3 hrs sleep, SO Sunday I was shattered physically and mentally ,I beat max and dave daya playing below par .then I had a 4-5 hr wait because we waited for players 10ball championship to finish,
So obviously I was drained and tired and on top it was really cold in the room,

But I set of good in the match with around 55 break then a hanger turns on me And that broke any focus I did have and rhythm and silly mistakes followed and I played bad from there..
The previous two matches we played I won also first time was my first straight pool event ever in 2008 dcc I got a run of 70 odd. And last time I play ok and win at dcc early this year.

Besides my start in the match the rest of the game was poor.. But circumstances and conditions were a key factor especially for me..but a wins a win :-) John like he said as his own reasons. A cue is a cue am playing with a new cue also, any top pro adjust easy to cues and fury are a nice cue.

My results in straight pool are nuts as I very rarely play so to beat The likes of John Schmidt, hohmann, mika, fiejen, daya, eberle, etc that played for years and hours on end ,makes me wonder how good I could be if I put the hours in and studied the game more ..

Thanks to fury and the guys who run the show was great few days.

Dynamite

That's a scary thought!
