Billy, do you shut down the bar at 2 a.m.?

I just might become a Midnight Rambler. I don't enjoy pool rooms that serve alcohol, but I do love the graveyard shift. Some of the best action games happen after the mightnight hour.

Did you hear about the Midnight Rambler?
Ev'body got to go.
Did you hear about the Midnight Rambler,
the one that shut the kitchen door?

Now I'm going to be singing that song all day in my head.

What great memories this song conjures up for me: Midnight Rambler!

That's great news Billy! Good to see you moving and shaking such a great pool room in a great area!

Keep up the good work. I'm going to try and come visit soon!

Nice!

Champions Shirlington is a fine room. Gold Crowns, even a tightass one.

Right off the hi-way too, onsite, free garage parking...and a full kitchen.

And, as a value-added bonus, you too can now set foot in the establishment that I helped to open, 'back in da day'.

What days do like to go there, Black-Balled?

Sounds great! I wish I didn't have a day job so I could revert to my night-owl nature.

Baby! Baby! Baby!

Billy:

Great News, pal. I think I have to come up there soon for some business and I will stop in. PM me your cell #. I want to coordinate when we can meet while I am there.

Very happy to hear you getting back on the horse!

Just like the old days!

I hear there's a nice Sunday one pocket handicapped tournament, I think it starts at 1:00.

Sounds like we need an AZB meetup some Friday at 3:00 am.

The new hours that could bring back some action, too -- is there anywhere else in the greater DC area to shoot after hours?

Cory

I know a few. ;)

alcohol, we have to stop serving at 2am Jenny and can start serving at 6am

new concept so we'd like to see as many a new person as possible to get the ball rolling. thinking this could help us !?!

next is getting the tables playing well. a chore indeed but we are working hard ... trying to appeal to the player(s)

many thanks for all the timely responses :)

You just might be seeing me and/or mine rolling in about 2 a.m. very soon, then. :)

haha where would that be?

Here's the thing. All "real" pool rooms have closed in our area. Gone are the old Bill and Billie's in Glen Burnie (the old Jack and Jills), USA Billiards in Laurel. Pool rooms are shutting down left and right.

If we can establish a "real" pool room, one where serious pool is the main course instead of sports games and loud music, well, I can just about guarantee all the "real" players will come out of the woodwork.

It would be so cool to see Bus Driver, Bobby Hawk, Danny Green, Ryan McCreesh, et al., giving it their all on a field of green. I miss seeing those action games. Build it and they will come. :)

I hear you loud and clear Cory.

70's and 80's honing my game - there were two 24 hr rooms Jack and Jill in Arlington Va and Guys and Dolls in Silver Hill Md. Those were the days of real pool

Stop by, looking forward to seeing some players

When is the next One Pocket Tournament?

Is it handicapped?
What times does it start?

I am two hours from DC, on the Eastern Shore.
How would one know there ranking.
Just Curious.

Every Sunday approx 1pm. It is handicapped. I believe I know your level of 9Ball Danny so that is a start (you give me the 6 maybe the 7 with the breaks). We always get different amounts of players, have had less than 10 and as many as 32. Had 33 actually but cut it off at 32. It always differs. I always add at least $50 to the pot, $100 if we get a minimum of 16 with no green fees

Come on by one of these days ...
