The Match:

I was using it the past 2 nights, I like it. I was in $1,000/1,200 eight ball I was giving up the breaks and 5 balls after the break, he was laying me 6/5 on the $$$. Most of the session was the dime/game-he wanted to start small to make sure he wasnt getting robbed, I didnt care I got my nose open lately, LOL.We came out even, I was ahead $3800 at one point, I think that was case $$$-but I didnt have a chance that game. With that spot its real easy to lose real fast. We started at $100/game thats why the $3800 number is there not $3600, either way I feel like I lost $5,000-because I didnt close the deal. I had to run out every rack or I lost, this guy isnt a banger.

The chalk Review:

Ok now for the review of the chalk. Its the most unusual chalk I ever used, Over the past 2 nights of action, Last night was small action, I won. I used the chalk for 4 hours and its barely wore down, Its gray and when you stroke it across the tip it turns blue like something is opening up, like a pill with little dots in it for example. I miscued once, I twisted my wrist, nothig was gonna stop that from happening i hit the rock so bad-here is the thing I looked at the tip for the spot you normally see when you miscue you see a brown patch of leather, I couldnt tell where the miscue happened.

Now more Bull $hit;) :

I havent read any threads on it, I chalk for every shot-especially if I'm betting a dime/game;however I dont think its necessary. It has lots of pigment in it. When I was finshed both nights I awalys clean the tip by rubbing it into the carpet, man does this stuff leave a blue mark, way more than regular chalk. Its kinda creamy and pasty. Like nothing I ever used before. For as much as I used it it showed very little wear. A piecve of it will last me a long time, the wrapper printing is very good too it didnt fade, or come off etc. Or even looked used, Im hard on chalk cause sometimes I hold it in my bridge hand(I know its a bad habit) but on a rare occasion I do. My hands are wetter than anyone ever I use tons of powder, with this chalk my hands wernt as wet. Also because I have wet hands the label on Masters fades real fast from the moisture in my hands, This label might have a petroleum base with paper pulp as well. It really a interesting product. It aint like any chalk I ever saw before-hell it aint chalk. Its a product you put on your cue tip to play pool.

I heard the price was high and thats a topic im not gonna address, if your betting it up who cares what chalk costs. you need every edge you can get. For bangers it might be pricey. My friend loaned me his piece cause im in action, probably everyday this week. I havent played much since Oct and it feels good to be in action.

I'm gonna buy 2 pieces of it, and use it. I like it enough to fade the price. My hands were cleaner as well. I get real sticky hands with that other expensive chalk thats real blue, I perfer old Master's the best-until now, I think I like this better. I'm just pissed I diodnt close out the session tonight and win, I had him on case $$$ I know I did.:angry::angry:

Whats up E?

I too used the Kamui chalk this past weekend in a tournament. I could go 5-7 racks without chalking when I was winning. I did keep checking the tip to see if I needed to chalk. When I finally did it would be a touch up only.

I used the Kamui Gator tool at the start of the day too.

Loved it.

If you were chalking every shot, I bet you laid down some chalk on the cue ball, cause you was piling it on! lol.

Like you said, not for everyone, but if it's O.N., I'm using it.

the rock had blue and red dots on it after each rack, it had to be wiped down, I cant play for that kind of $$$ and not chalk every shot, that just goes against everything I learned, but i'm sure its possible especially with those blue fuzzy tips I'm to sleepy to think the name of-Elk Masters??? is that it?, the cheap ones everyone presses. you might need to chalk it once a month.

When I get my new computer I will be on Fatboy2 full time. I appologise to everyone for the mix up. I really wanted to stop at 9999 posts this damn machine, logs me off Fatboy2 and goes back to this account and I cant get rid of the cookie thats causeing the problem. I'm still the same Guy. And I will be on one Account, Also I'd like to thank every one for the PM's in Fatboy2 I havent replied too I havent had much time here. I was just up and wanted to make this thread. Man I wished I colsed him out for the $5,000-that would have been a nice score, were gonna play tomarrow. I asked him to bet more, we will see. he is a poker player so I can win 10-20K. He can play pool too he is a solid C player.

Solid

It would'nt be to hard for a solid c player to win if his opp don't run out when he is getting 5 balls off the break

2 pieces?! Slow down there, pal. Next thing you know, you'll be wanting to drive around in a Rolls...

Hey Fatboy

Question - did you notice any difference using this chalk in regards to the amount that ends up in the felt? Would be nice to find a chalk that doesnt make its way down to the cloth as much (thats the main reason our palms get dirty). Thanks - great review!

Chris

I've probably watched 100 pro matches and I have yet to see one(1) pro using Kamui chalk. Has anyone seen a pro that's not sponsored by Kamui or a good friend of a Kamui rep? I see every pro with Masters and a few with Blue Diamond. Both Shane and Earl played 180+ games and I never saw one of them miss-cue with Masters. Johnnyt

My question is as it changes color, does it "GLOW" in low light from Radiation, or is it Pre-Radiation Kamui Chalk? Yes I know that was BAD!;)

This has to be the most insensitive post I've ever read on this or any forum. I'm truly disgusted that you can joke about a country that has been devastated by a Tsunami and a nuclear reactor failure. Over 20,000 human beings lost there lives. The brave men and women working to repair the reactor are basically committing suicide by staying.

I have joked with you in the past about your writing style. This has nothing to do with our past interactions.

Truly feels sorry for you,
Chris

The Joke was a Joke, as we are alway talking about Master before the Flag, Pre Flag, or not. As I said in the post "yes I know that was bad", meaning it was a joke.

You are right, it was really BAD! If you knew it, why did you post it??
Very poor taste IMHO..

How can a chalk keep your hands DRIER????

Doesn't make sense to me bro...

Hope you're well!

You realize that Kamuii chalk has only been released for a few weeks now. You've watched 100 pro matches in the last few weeks?

It was a limited release, as well. It's been pretty well documented that supplies were initially limited. The Kamuii rep that was a spectator at TAR 20 gave a piece to John Schmidt at that time, showing it hasn't been sent out far and wide to pro's yet.

I'm sure you will see pro's trying it, and probably using it. In time. Many of them will undoubtably be sponsored by Kamuii, and that's how these things go. (Insert Cue-Tech reference here. :p ) I bet that some who aren't sponsored by Kamuii will eventually use it, as well. You did hear John Schmidt say on the stream how if it eliminated any miscues it would be worth it, right?

None of this has anything to do with whether or not the chalk is good or not, or if it is worth the asking price or not. We have seen a few reviews here by people who have actually tried it and give it a good review. And they too don't all agree on whether the price is too much or not. And that's OK. But at least they have tried it and know of what they speak.

This as opposed to the dozens of posters here who have repeatedly lambasted a product they haven't ever seen, much less actually tried. From a company that actually sponsors pool events. You do remember all the other threads here lamenting what is wrong with pool, and the whining about why pool doesn't get enough corporate sponsorships, especially from companies in pool-related businesses. I would think that Kamuii would get some benefit of the doubt, being as they are active in our world. Instead, they are accused of trying to upset the balance of the universe by charging $25 for a new and supposedly innovative chalk-product.

Next time anyone asks you what is wrong with pool, you can reply, "pool players are what's wrong with pool."

Will I be buying a $25 piece of chalk anytime soon? I don't believe I will. But I'm not opposed to trying it at some point. Hopefully the price will go down, but if it doesn't, and I have the dispensable $$$ at the time, I'll give it a try. Maybe. I'm open to finding out for myself.

Mika was using it in the match he played in Quebec. He talked about it in the post-match interviews. He said he had to keep it on a magnetic chalker to keep track of it because it was so expensive :p

Hmmmm

Oh, so I'm guessing I could joke about your mother last night but as long as I qualify that "yes, I know that was bad" all is cool, right ??

That is kinda demented to say the least. It's only funny if it makes someone laugh (besides yourself) and all I hear are the crickets.

If you hit too far away from center CB with any kind of tip or chalk you will miss-cue...that's just basic. It's bad enough this forum has become a free sales pitch for pool products, now it's becoming a snake oil forum also. Johnnyt
