What are your strong (best) points in a 9 ball match, and your weak points as well? I am trying to get people to talk about their strong points in a match playing 9 ball. And when you talk about strong points, weak points have to surface also! This is a sincere thread. People who read the post here might pick up some info that might help their game.... Your Pool game is very important to you!

Strong points are thinking ahead and making the right decision at the right time. Weak points...3 ball combination shots.

Strong points: I remember 10 ball is a game away
Weak points: i'm not playing 10 ball

Strength-knowing what to do and how to get out.
Weakness-no consistency. I'm as capable to string racks as i am to miss ball in hand.

Strong point:: Knowing I can make almost anything on the table to get out and play safe at any time ,,if in trouble. Leaving him really tough,,,so I win!!

Weak point: Realizing my opponent can do the same thing.

Did you spot something in this post that you kinda liked? Well please do not feel like the Long Ranger! I still have eye drops all over my glasses! Clean that key board good, Ratta. And pay attention to this great post, by Lock N Load.

Thanks for all of the good input!

My weakest part is the break. I've spent a few days on it with someone racking for me and its worked out, but my tip is bad so I'm never consistent. My equipment sucks.

My strong point is probably the very first shot of the inning. Don't know why but I usually do well on this shot.

I appreciate all the AZB members that put their good input into this post!
Get that break going good!

I see what u doing...You ask for strong points & weak points...It's good to know your opponents strong & weak points when you match up with them..staying away from the strong & exploiting the weak.....Here you just get them to write it down for you without ever watching them hit a ball....Very clever indeed ! lol:thumbup:

I don't do anything to consider strong or weak on a consistent basis game-wise... my strengths and weaknesses in 9 ball tend to be format related. In tournaments, I tend to do very well. I'm in the money better than 50% of the time. I adjust to weight (giving or taking) well. When in an individual match, however, I don't play nearly as well. I rarely win a money game against an individual unless they're terrible. Any tips for an apparent mental problem?

I am the opposite, for a long time I played in tournaments like I didn't care, now I am playing better but still struggle with motivation. I am okay at safeties but my shot selection and execution are below par, something I need to work on.

Strong points - I can get out of almost any saftey. I can also kick out of a saftey into a safety. I also play really good position off of more than 3 rails.

Weak points - I lose focus towards the end of racks. Usually its the last 2 or 3 balls on the table. I just expect it to be automatic when i know that is when i should be bearing down the most.

I have two weaknesses - not being able to get into position for the next shot and not being able to make the shot

Strength: racking

Strong points - I kick real well.

Weak points - Playing safeties against my opponent and the mental side of the game. Haven't been playing long enough so I don't make the right choice sometimes.

Oh yeah and I'm garbage.

Hey HoumaTroy, time for a new Deer in the photo!

That one looks old now... That is not what I am doing! I do not know all of the people that post here. And how could I remember how all of them play pool. I am getting to know them though!
What is your name again? Do I know you? Oh, I remember you are the guy with the Deer! He, He, He.
I never worry about how someone else plays when I am going to play them. If you have to worry about who you are going to play, you do not need to play them. Worry is a weakness! And a weak point! Not worrying is good! And a strong point!
HoumaTroy are you trying to Sneak up on me?

I am glad to hear about your good points and your bad points. But never Look down on yourself again! You could never be garbage! Someone else has that job! Remember to practice more everyday or as much as you can. Try to play with people that play better than you! get rid of all of your weak points! Bury them here and now for good! Keep up the good work! Keep me informed of your progress!!! You are number One to yourself!

Hey Oddball, a change is going to come!

I have two weaknesses - not being able to get into position for the next shot and not being able to make the shot

Strength: racking

First of all start practicing something other than racking! Put a sign by your pool table saying Rack person needed! Male or female it does not matter as long as you are not racking... Make your weakness racking! And your strong point getting out on your opponents! Hit balls often as you can. Think positive all of the time! If all else fails, you can come to New Orleans, Louisiana, and I will have plenty of work for you, Racking the balls. He, He, He. All jokes aside, Stop Racking today! Start playing pool Great! Like I know you can....
