Please Identify... Intresting Unkown... Vintage Custom?

This cue without a doubt is an early Guido Orlandi cue. I know this because I own one and have seen multiple cues of his with that exact joint and solid phenolic butt cap configuration.

Without a doubt... said with conviction!

I'm sold.

Hoping to find pic's, his name was easy to google, but his site was down. Do you have any snapshots for reference?

I will post some pics hopefully this weekend. The cue is at my father in laws house.

I did some more research in the AZ archives, and it was mentioned that Guido used to play out of The Entertainer here in San Francisco. A league mate also mentioned he ran the cue repair shop there, in addition to playing a game of jam up 9-ball.

I'd still love to see some photo's to confirm.

Just got off the phone with Mr.Orlandi.

And he confirmed he made this cue.

A very insightful, entertaining, and otherwise awesome gentleman to speak with.

He stated that the cue was an old house cue conversion, wasn't sure of brand, he just remembered liking the particular wood. He mentioned that it was some of his earliest work based on the pin and joint, he doesn't use this type of mated/piloted joint anymore. He also mentioned the styling of the wrap going all the way down to an extended butt cap was a functional preference of Buddy Hall who liked to hold his cues at the ends. Lastly we talked about a weight bolt and a rubber bumper. He confirmed that the bolt located 7" deep inside the cue is indeed a weight bolt, and can be adjusted to move the balance point.

Thank you Guido, and thanks to everyone who posted to this thread.

Eric
