You have been here on az for a while, have over 2000 posts, maybe it's time for you to get yourself an avatar.

Perhaps a scantily clad woman, a Tascarella cue, or a Tasmanian devil.

You have a lot of friends on here, maybe some of them can post some suggestions for your consideration.

Congrats on going over 2k.

Best,
Brian kc

Hmmmm

But DUB ,, please no APA logos just to stir up trouble !!!!!!

Brian:

Be careful what you wish for. Nevermind it's not needed, but even if it were, having 2,000+ posts is an easy precursor achievement to have an avatar. All one has to do is "disappear" into NPR never-never land (AZB's blackhole, or /dev/null) for a while, and when that person returns, he/she will have 10,000+ post history, nevermind 2,000+!

But I agree; if justadub's post history is mainly non-NPR, congrats!

oh, the pressure.... :p

thanks guys. I'll see what I can do.

This is really a hoot, a fun treat to come home to find. (After my weekly APA match... sorry, RJ.)

I'll be chuckling all night now. Pressure, indeed.

Here you go. You're in Maine, right? Home of the Lobsters. Here's a scantily dressed lady kissing a lobster.

She could do so much better...that lobster looks twice her age.

How 'bout a nice coastal Maine scene as a backdrop with the following message?

"A banger from Bangor"

I like that. I like it a lot!

How about this guy, Paul Bunyan from Bangor, looking like he's holding a heavy pool cue.

That's not Paul Bunyan, silly, that's Mike Gulyassy with Earl's new player.

Actually, I think Mr. Bunyan must be from the other Bangor, one out in Minnesota. I remember seeing him in the disturbingly terrific movie, Fargo, when the sherriff was on her way to Minneapolis to do an interview.

Oh, man, I loved that movie. It was full of suspense and tension. Great flick!

I went to a Joss tournament in Portland, Maine, one year, and the entire drive was a breathtaking, scenic journey. I have never seen so many white birch trees in my life. Everybody kept saying it's moose country, but I didn't get to see one live moose. :grinning-moose:

We enjoyed some lobster bisque and whole lobster dinners right on the wharf. The restaurant was a ship. It was ambrosially delicious. I will never forget it. :)

So how about this one, a happy moose!

Actually, that statue is about a block from where I'm sitting. They did a major overhaul on it, it was beaten up pretty badly over the years. It's been there since 1959, donated for the Bangor's 125th anniversary. I remember climbing up on it as a kid, which they don't let folks do nowadays. :)

There's always been a bit of a battle between Minnesota and Maine over Mr. Bunyan. Kind of funny.

We had a minor league baseball team here for a couple of years called The Blue Ox. Funny, we don't have any statue of Babe to go along with Paul.

That resturaunt is DeMillos, a very nice place indeed. I haven't been there in quite a while now, but I know it's still in business and still successful.

If you really want to see a moose, you kind of have to go further north than Portland. :grinning-moose: Most folks don't seem to realize it, but Maine does exist north of Portland. :p (That is a regular issue here in our state, "the two Maines". Portland, and the rest of us.)

Actually, I'm sure there are moose surrounding Portland, just far fewer than the rest of the state. They are big, dumb, slow creatures. You DO NOT want to hit one with your car, you will lose that battle, and depending on the car (and the moose) maybe your life. They are tall enough that many cars will go right underneath them, taking their legs out, and landing about 1200 lbs of beast right through your windsheild.

So big thanks to JAM for the perfect avatar picture, and to Kickin Chicken for starting this silliness in the first place. (And the banger from Bangor line. We get that pronunciation quite regularly. It's quite funny to hear commercials produced elsewhere and to hear that pronunciation... For accuracies sake, it's pronounced Bang-gor.)

This has been fun.

Aw, shucks, thank you for your great contributions to the forum, Justadub. I enjoy reading your posts.

BTW, the least you could is initial-cap "Banger" from Bangor. You are, indeed, worthy of capitalization, IMO! :)

Just like here in NY; it's pronounced Lon-Gisland (exaggerated hard "g" sound). :p

Leave it to Jam for finding the exact right avatar for you. Perfect!

And I agree with her, capitalize "B" for Banger and us type A's will be able to rest comfortably knowing your extreme makeover is complete. :p

I also agree that you are a great contributor here on az. :)
