glued on cloth

What do you guys use to remove the dried contact cement on the slate ?

It depends on what type of glue it is, but 3M makes a good adhesive remover in a spray can. That, a putty knife and a little time, and it'll come off.

goof off and a scraper, followed by alcohol. use in a well ventilated area

The nice thing about the 3m remover is that it is cirus based, and smells like a orange grove. It is no problem using it in a customers home at all.

thanks reverend for the tip, goof off is strong, i will be using some 3m for now own if it smells like oranges.

It smells like oranges, but make sure you read the label. We were with Glen in Vegas when we found the stuff. We were working on a Diamond that someone had 77'ed the entire playing surface!!! We happened on the 3M Remover in a hardware store. It works great and in that quantity, smells great. We read the label though when Don's hands started burning. LOL Something along the lines of "avoid contact with skin..... flush with large amounts of water...... consult a physician......" details details.
