Is Ultimate 10 ball Ball stream the best stream ever?

They need to tell the female ref to not rack all 10 balls in the same place all the time.

The 1, 2, 3, and 10 are the only ones that should be put in the same place for every rack.

Her racking always looks like this:

1
4, 5
6, 10, 7
2, 8, 9, 3

I haven't seen enough streams to judge whether this is "the best ever", but I am really impressed with the little that I've gotten to see.

I don't usually listen to the commentary, so I can't speak to those issues. What I've seen on the screen has been awesome.

Thanks to everyone involved in bringing this to us.

without a doubt,,, as good as any t.v. broadcast[or better than] i have seen. bravo!

You obviously haven't seen streaming from the European Federation events. In the European championships this year, 20 tables were streamed and live scoring is in action for every table in this event and in every event organised by the EPBF.

While the streaming from the "Ultimate" is pretty good, it is spoiled for me by the background music which is drowning out the commentary.

They should put the commentator in a booth as we do in Europe.
Not trying to start a transatlantic war, just giving my opinion.

Correction, the 1 and the 10 are the only ones that should be put in the same place for every rack unless the TD has decided differently.

All the sound comes from the table mic and the commentator mics on stream1. I can adjust the room sound with the table mic. All I need is a little input from the viewers and it's done.

The booth is hard to to transport.

I have not seen many streams from your side of the pond but I am interested in checking them out.

Thanks for the input!

Good quality stream. They set the bar high for all others imo. But real time scoring is not working for me at the moment.

I really like it!, very clear stream, and getting to watch two tables is right on time, the real time scoring is good, and the players list was great, and I like the payout structure.

Ray,

It was a pleasure working with you during this event. I am so glad you were able to Roger Griffis in the booth - I told you that he'd be a lot of fun!

Quality Streaming in America

The streaming in America is really still in it's infancy, but coming along very well, it is being improved all the time by the streamers that we do have.
20 tables may seem nice , but really I think I would lose out on more than I could watch , it would be too many to choose from for me.

In America pool and back ground music go together like chalk and a cue stick!

Interesting you would say that, Jason. I think Bigtruck's streams are top notch for video quality but the audio on his streams sometimes seem to sound like it is coming over short wave radio.

Unfortunately the equipment just doesn't last. I have a short in one channel of my mixer right now. One of the commentator mics seems to be shorting too.

I have streamed over 1,100 matches in 2 years. The industry hasn't been very supportive with advertising, largely due to the weak economy, while the viewers keep pushing for free shows. PPV seems like the only way to make it continue.

Most of the time I can tweak the mixer and eliminate the "short wave radio" thing, but I need live input. Feel free to let me know with a pm anytime.

Help out by hitting the donate button. Specify equipment donation and I will advertise for anyone you like to earn it.

Thanks for the input! It's the best way to make it better.

There is no question that the streaming for this event is first class and my comments are meant to be constructive.
You have to bear in mind that in the major European events like the European Championships and the Eurotour for example, there are around 30countries taking part and naturally everyone wants to see their heroes playing so it is great if we get a choice of tables to watch.
Here too in Europe we have music at all events, that was not my point. I like to hear what the commentator is saying and I think he is being drowned out by the background music.
I am certain that there are no table mikes in use in the above mentioned event so background music comes across as background only.

Nice quality picture. I do like having the option of two streams. Only issue was the delay in refreshing the score on the screen.

Bigtruck,

I really appreciate all that you, TAR and the other streamers do.

I am well aware of the equipment costs, travel expenses, technical knowledge and the time and energy you guys put into these streams for little or no reward. Thank you for all of your hard work.

I'll gladly echo these sentiments.

Yes,and the best event. This is a class act. Wish the races were a little longer but time is a factor I know. Thanks to everyone involved. Big Truck, a special thanks to you.

I truly enjoyed the stream and am glad it was offered free. I liked Bigtrucks stream and commentating better than InsidePool's. Blackjack, great job commentating!
