****1992 US Nationals Video Collage****

Hey all; Since we just had Memorial Day,I thought I'd put together this video collage from the first ever US nationals held at Chris's Billards in Chicago, IL. Many of the players in this tournament are no longer with us! The tournament was 24 players, 3 flights of 8, 2 advance from each flight, plus 2 wild cards.

The video is a little long, 23 mins. but, many memories of older players that are no longer with us. Some very good friends and My Dad, Merhl Smith, and Mom, Rose Smith. some of the players include Allen Gilbert, George Ashby, Carlos Hallon, Sonny Cho, Adrian Viguera, Soo Kim, Frank Torres, Mazin Shooni (with hair), and many more.

I hope the viewers will take a few minutes to remember some of the best players of that era, I think everyone will find these video clips memorable, as I do!

O my GOD, Amazing memory , I have known & played with couple of the players for the past 4 years ( amazing and talented players ) a lot of people past away ,

Bill I tried it but when I hit play, it just says it's connecting adn the screen remains blank. I'll try again tomorrow.

Dave; Are you running IE9 or 8?. This type of file seems to work very well with Interner Explorer 9, the most recent version.

P.S. This goes for anyone Who's had a problem viewing the video, I'm sure IE9 will do the trick!

Thanks for posting that wonderful piece of billiard history. I recently attended the 2011 US Nationals in Las Vegas. It was great to see so many names in your video from 20 years ago who are still active and playing even stronger today!

FYI, viddler.com will let you load up any length video that you want. That's what I use for the recordings that I make of tournaments.

Hey jamie; Thanks for the info, I took your advise and uploaded 2 videos, (1992 Nationals and 1997 Exhibition of Artistic Billiards for 350 Northwestern students at Chris's Billiards) on Viddler. Just click on the Video tab on my homepage; http://www.mr3cushion.com. Much easier to view!

That was way fun to watch, thanks for moving it to YouTube! Great memories of folks I haven't seen in years. I first met your Father in Ray Abrams' Cushion & Cue in the early 70's, along with many others. he's was very nice man, I liked him very much. ...and you were just a stud at the table! :)

What ever happened to Soo Kim? Last I saw of him was in 93 in San Jose. I wonder if there's a list of those that are no longer with us that were filmed? Anyone know?

Dave; I'm glad you enjoyed the video, also thnaks for the nice about my Dad. As far as I know, Soo Kim also passed away maybe a year after Sang Lee, I'm going to list to best memory to who as left us!

Hey Bill, thanks for posting that. It was very interesting. I especially like the little "bonus" shot by sang lee at the end. What an incredible billiard player he was.
