What is the worst thing or the best thing you ever seen in pool.

I saw a 5-6 year old little boy walk up to Earl Strickland with a framed picture of Earl(portrait type) and ask him for his autograph. It was so amazingly cute, that is until Earl said simply "10 bucks". The little boy said "I don't have that" to which Earl said "then I guess you don't get no signature then" and walked off. This was at the Sheraton in Columbia SC, rack em up classic.

Similar experience, I was down at CJ's back in 93 in Dallas the year that Earl ran several racks, made some combo's and pocketed the nine on the break many times to score 11 games for the million $, well a buddy of mine bar tended my brothers night club back in Texarkana,TX and asked me to get him Earls autograph.

I was standing inline to recieve Earls autograph and there was this little boy about 10-12 yrs. in front of me, it came the little boy's turn and he ask: Mr Strickland would you please put to Billy on it for me?, Earl said NOPE! never looked up, just kept on signing autographs, I'm sure the little boy felt let down by his idol.

Earl not signing autographs for those kids is inexcusable, seriously what a terrible attitude

Best thing: Pool players and industry people coming together to raise money for good causes.

Worst thing: Players and industry people who never stop whining.

i will take that to heart. Few if any worked harder than you for this game.

I WAS THERE, 5 feet away. And the kid cried.

I didn't mention this earlier for fear of you guys thinking I was making it dramatic for effect. Of course the child didn't frame the picture himself, but that doesn't mean that daddy wanted the autograph either.

Best thing: Jean Balukas playing pool. It was 8 ball, and I set on my ass the whole time. She ran like 3 or 4 racks on me before I got 1 shot, missed, and she finished off the set. A thing of beauty. :-)

Worst thing: Couple of years back a guy was killed in front of me. About 15 feet away. It was a pool hall on Brighton Beach in Brooklyn. An idiot animal grabbed a cue from the wall, flipped it upside down, and clubbed a guy on the side of the head, then ran away yelling something like: "He dissed my girl.". When cops and EMTs came, it was all over. They caught that animal in 2 days, but that did not help the dead guy any. Took me time to return to the same place to play...

These things that EARL has done to kids(not signing autographs)i believe is wrong, maybe earl has changed in signing autographs, last year at the DCC the crowd followed earl everywhere, and as much as i have seen EARL he did not turn 1person down for pictures or signing pool cues and this went on everyday at DCC,EARL did seem to be in a great mood every time i seen him at that tournment,i guess it all depends on what mood you catch EARL in,i dont agree with that but thats EARL!
