Alex Pagulayan plays Floyd Ziegler for the snooker title today at 1 pm.
They like and respect each other but are very competitive.
Alex is stuck about a g-note to him this trip..but he's up a few bucks lifetime.
..they even lock horns at backgammon.
And Alex plays Mario Morra in the a-side 10-ball final.
Mario is Johnny Morra's father and plays real sporty for his age.
When Alex won his first Canadian 9-ball title....Mario missed an easy 9 for
the match to get to the final.
So he is looking for revenge...and he's a tough cookie....
..not many players can say they've beaten Jimmy White at snooker...
..and Johnny Archer and Jeremy Jones at 9-ball.

Those of you all who had the chance to watch Alex play are indeed real lucky.
Good to hear all the positive notes from the canadian pool and snooker happenings.
Reading all the one liners U guys come up with keeps me laughing all day long.
Sadly though the canadians won't B in a laughing mood later today!!!

Alex cracks everybody up
Alex wins the final 6-0 and finishes with a 100 run for the second match
in a row.His 131 stands up as high run.
And he delighted the crowd...just being Alex.
He also gets a spot in the world snooker championship in China next year.
Who knows what can happen...he may just charm the snooker crowd.

Alex is a Canadian citizen.
Grew up in Toronto and his mother still lives there
Also a citizen of the Philippines.
Not exactly a snooker virgin, Toronto does have snooker tables.
He won the Asian Games Gold Medal in 2005.

They've had a couple dreadfully slow b-side matches.
Montel and Klatt took about 4 & 1/2 hours ...Klatt won....
one game took 45 minutes.
In the b-side final with Morra and Klatt, one guy on chat made the
crack of the night..he said...."One guy is painting the table. the other
one is watching it dry.":rotflmao1:
The final has been moved to Sunday afternoon.
The match time will be 1:00 pm-est....Klatt beat Morra hill/hill

are you kidding? 45 minutes for a game of 10 ball?
Yes...next year there is going to be a clock.
They were hesitant about using it this year because it wasn't
mentioned at the player's meeting.
I suggested to also bring a calendar as a back-up....
...or a sun dial.
The World Snooker Championship is in Sheffield, England not China. And I seriously doubt they're giving a spot to a player who hasn't gone through the qualifiers like everyone else.
He's referring to the IBSF World (Amateur) Snooker Championship. That title is often thrown around as the World Snooker Championship and can be confusing. The winner of the Canadian Snooker Championship wins a spot to play in the World Amateur. If Alex won that, then he'd be qualified for the main tour.
As Cameron Smith says, it is the IBSF world championship Alex will be
eligible for.Although I wouldn't call it amateur any more.I believe any pro
not in the top 32 can play.
The one in Sheffield is the World Professional Snooker Championship...
..controlled by the WPBSA.
Alex could be in a similar situation as Wu though.He has dual citizenship
which may make him ineligible to represent Canada.
Alex lost the 10-ball finals 11-13 to Jason Klatt...btw
When he phoned from Vegas he had his heart set on getting a spot in
the snooker...and his 9-foot play showed it.
