Racy pictires. Are they necessary?

This is the first time I've really gotten into AZ on a regular basis. I admit I'll read while I’m at work and more when I get home. But it’s been very discouraging when I’m reading post and my 12 year old son is interested in what I’m doing and on the screen are racy avatars and sometimes additional adult pictures. I don’t mean to complain but I would ask for those who do have racy pictures to please consider this is not a pornographic website, and be mindful of the fact that there are some who don’t appreciate that kind of material, and for those who do, well there are sites they can visit for that, but not AZ. I’m not here to pick a fight nor offend anyone, those are not my attentions. I’m just asking, with respect, to please consider.

This topic has been brought up several times over the years, and unfortunately, you -- and I -- are in the minority.

There is a feature that allows you to TURN OFF all avatars. This might be a good solution for you, so as not to allow your family to view vulgar and demeaning photos of women.

They're the nuts. We're having a great season here so far for blooms.

Interestingly, Rick S. of our forum sent me some absolutely beautiful pictures of cactus flowers. Since I'm kind of firmly grounded on the East Coast, I don't have the luxury of seeing these beautiful blossoms.

Here's one of them by Rick S. I have several, so I tried to pick the best one.

30 seconds. I had to wait because it stopped me, stating I had to wait 10 more seconds out of the 30 before I could post. :p

I feel your pain. While I'm at work sometimes there will be a girl in a thong, and I need to scroll past that post quickly. But I can't turn the avatars off because that is how I recognize most frequent members on here.

Is my avatar too racy for you...I mean JAM has a big p**** up on hers:rolleyes:

If you get busted at work that is definitely your fault. If you get busted at home that is definitely your fault.

+1 to the turn off avatars. The only time pictures would then be shown would be the funny/gift thread or occasionally in a thread but that is more rare.

As long as no nipples are shown (male or female) as well as at least a millimeter of string covering the dairy air of the females (full shorts/pants covering the guys lol)...it isn't that horrible and puts a smile or frown on my az face depending on the picture. Yes sometimes I want to vomit but I fight through it like a champ.
 
You are referring to a long standing tradition on AZB, freedom of choice (within the moderator's limits). You also have the choice to turn off the avitars, as JAM and others have already said.
