Just got through with the early stages of building a light for my GC 3 . I used cedar wood , built out 2'x8' , has 2 4 lamp t-8 high output light fixtures inside , and due to the vaulted ceiling in my house is suspended on cables with rollers so that I can easily clean and replace lights .Again I have not stained this to match the table yet and need to install a cover/difuser but you get the general idea . Will post more pics soon.

Neat idea! Definitely looks like a lot of work and a lot of thought put into it. I didn't see the wires to hook it up to electric though. Do you have that running on an extension cord or something? Or did you do it where it looks trick too?

wiring

the wire is run off the back left side down the cable . When I am done with it it will have a disconnect close to that and be hard wired into a wall switch.

That gives you an opportunity to slide beads on it too for 14.1 score-keeping. A set on each side of the middle "hanger". Cool idea.

"But-but-but Matt, why not use the two suspension wires themselves as the 'hot' and 'neutral' leads of the 120VAC? This way, when your opponents try to reach up onto the light to get the cash, they'll have a nasty surprise coming..."

:p :D

J/K, of course. I like the way you did it. The nice thing is that the light fixture can slide on the suspension wire if you need to relocate the table a bit along the direction of those wires.

Nice job!

I may do that or run a seperate line for it . Did not think about using each side ...hmmmmm ...thanks

I didn't see the light diffusing panels that are on most Diamond type lights. Do you have or plan to have those panels. I love T-8 bulbs lighting.

When I come to visit, I don't want to be "blinded by the light". :D

I see your issue with hanging this light with the ceilings you have. How high is that ceiling??

Hope you have some great anchors for them cables,,the tension on them are great over that distance. Would suck if the light fell on the table.

Some decorative chain over the cables might be a good thing too.
