WTB: Meucci Originals

Just for shits and arguments, i posted 2 of my originals. If you go back through this thread you can see for yourself.

However, the OP is offering to buying this for way less than what they are worth on todays market. Don't get me wrong, if the market was better a seller could fetch more. But OP is trying to buy at prices that HE or SHE could buy a newer Meucci for these days.

IMO, this thread is worthless to everyone who has posted pics of Meucci Originals and gave OP a price. Once again guys, this is my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.

They stopped making these cues in the 80's maybe 1990, so how does he expect to get a 90% condition Meucci Original for the price he could buy a newer Meucci (non original). Just makes no sense to me at all.

He offered me $300 for my OL-2.....DUDE ARE U SERIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (i'm not trying to give it away)

This thread needs to be closed because OP will never buy an originals in 90% condition for $300.......This is my opinion once again

a public service announcement from asiasdad for those tired
of nits biting on their balls.

JMHO. I'm probably gonna take flack for this but.........Just for sh$$ts and giggles, I'm gonna guess that the OP is a recently banned poster returning under a different name and running up his post count for other purposes. Just looking at the join date and his now posting in the action room looks suspicious. I'm probably wrong and will have to apologize but this is just my opinion.

Nothing wrong with trying to get the best price for a Meucci Original. 975 for a Meucci Original in this market is a excessive. The cues I offered 400 for were not in mint condition. I am looking for a mint cue that is also rare. I am almost ready to pull the trigger on a night time road agent for that is like brand new. Just waiting for the seller to send me pictures on Monday. I am not in a hurry or desperate, so I will wait for the right cue to come along and the right price. If you could sell your cue for Star of David for 975 in this market you would have already done it. Remember its a Meucci and not a custom cue.

If you look on ebay right now there is a mint condition Meucci that is going for 300 and there is 30 minutes left, so obviously the market is not that good for Meucci Originals right now.

The Meucci Original on ebay just sold for 300 in mint condition with 2 shafts. GueMEUCCI ORIGINAL WITH 2 SHAFTS

Remember its a Meucci and not a custom cue.

Remember, they will never be produced again.

And they will never me made as good as they were back then.

I could imagine the prices will increase when Bob is no longer around. In this case the new Meucci's will just be a meucci as it is now.

That might be true, but the market is not there right now. A very nice Meucci Original in mint condition just sold on ebay for 300.

Probably one of those that everyone has in their collection. I personally don't like all of them, but there is few that I am fond of. The market isn't there for much of anything at the moment. Even the custom cues are having price cuts at the moment. Just saying ur not gonna find many if any that are willing to part with something that is no longer made, at the price that you can buy a newer one for. IMO

I enjoy having a pool cue thats old enough to buy its own beer, LMAO.

It would have been helpful if you had inserted the URL for that Meucci. That cue is 84-5, the remake of the MO-7.

It looks to me like that guy did very well on his sale of the 84-5.

It would behoove you to do your research before low-balling people that know what their cue's are worth.

This info is from Blue Book of Pool Cues:
Level 3 MO-7
- Maple forearm, four ebony points with four colored veneers, black butt sleeve with white rectangles within white chain link rings set in black at top and bottom.
Grading________________98% 90% 70%
Orig. Retail (1975) $170_ $800 $595 $365

These prices can be higher or lower depending on supply and demand.

I have a 95-32 signed by Bob Meucci. It comes with 3 shafts, all perfectly straight. I will be happy to sell it to you for the 98% condition price by Blue Book for $1750(shipping not included). That means you would be getting an extra shaft for free as this cue sold new only came with 2 shafts. I will talk to Sammy Jones to see if he would be willing to act as escrow for the transaction.

i have no dog in this fight. but the last edition of the blue book (third edition) was published in 2005 so i don't believe those prices are relevant six years later. not only is it six years old but the economy was completely different when the research for that book was done. i buy and sell a fair amount of cues and i don't use that book as a guide for anything. you are better off to search and see what the current market is by looking at recent sales. and if someone wants to try and find a cue he wants for a certain value that's his business. if you don't want to sell your cue for that amount then don't sell it. again, this is just my opinion.

The cue that sold on ebay was in 90 percent conditon or better and had two shafts. I am sure that it was worth more than the 300 it sold for. I was not low balling anyones cues. Just because the blue book says the cue is worth say 800 doesn't mean you will be able to get that for it. Cues sell all the time for well below what they are worth. Especially in todays market. A cue is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. It is my right to offer what I want for a cue and the sellers right to either accept or reject the offer. People on ebay are always low balling, so they can get the best deal.
