CTE and throw

People are "taught" all kinds of things. I watched an episode of Rachel Ray's "30 Minute Meals" the other day and was "taught," or if you prefer "learned" how to make a great five-spice tenderloin. But now, a few weeks later, I can't remember the recipe and will probably never make it.

Getting the lesson does not equal adopting what was taught.

Just because people take a lesson or buy a DVD (I bought it) does not mean they internalize the information and system, can make it work, and see enough benefit for themselves to actually use it. Ask around any major tournament, "Who is using CTE?" and you will get nothing. Ask some of the pro players directly and they will laugh in your face about it.

When you leave a pool lesson you need to practice what you were taught to get it right and to remember everything, cooked any tenderloins lately Lou?
Learning something and not putting it to use means you really didn't learn anything.
Haven't had any pro's laugh at me while discussing CTE, guess it helps when you have knowledge of the subject of discussion.

Hi Dave

I agree about Practice. LEARN-PRACTICE-PLAY.

When we teach CTE nothing changes. Just can't do it in five minutes. I set out a 15 minute workout for CTE to all my students.

Hope to see you this Fall.

Yeah. Get on the PA at any major tournament and ask, "OK, campers: who in this room is using CTE this tournament?"

........and just wait for all the blank looks and crickets, lol :-)

The last time I looked at my website stats, my aiming voodoo had been viewed over 20,000 times. I'm guessing it was more than just one person clicking it all day long but could be wrong.

I've personally got a min of 50 PMs thanking me for helping them learn and they couldnt learn from others.

If you're doing just fine doesn't that mean you're about the same?
Frankly, I think you're still a little under the weather.

lol. And you obviously don't know enough to come in out of the rain.

So, though you've been an amuse-bouche, I must bid you adieu (again) and send you down the chute to the bottom of my bit bin. Petey is already down there -- I think you know each other from previous visits :-)

Have a nice day.

I don't understand why this concept is sooooo hard for youse guys to understand: Granted you got 50 PMs thanking you profusely for teaching them the Tao of CTE. *That does not mean that 6 months later, or even 6 days later, they have internalized it and are still using it.*

It also doesn't get you anywhere near the "thousands" or even "hundreds" being bandied about.

I don't understand why you guys are so religiously against it??? So let say 5 people on earth use it... Who the hell cares. Tell it's good, take our money and smile.

Looks like their aim is off...

I think this is what it boils down to.

The other day I was reading a wire service story out of Indonesia and was reminded of our beloved CTErs:

I think they got the wrong parallel line there... Death would in fact cure their diseases rather quickly.

My first thouhgt was that they got the wrong track... then I actually read the story.
That is hillarious. It probably started with a drunk passed out on the tracks that woke up as the train went by and got a "miracle" cure.
To each his own.

Once again, Lou gets outplayed and decides to bail out. Lou I will not put you in the bit-bin, you used to be funny and I like that.

Waiting for Lou to feel better.

Good grief, do you read anything but your own posts?!

Once again: *Nobody* cares if five guys use it (probably a pretty good number, though :-) It's only when there are these outlandish claims about "thousands" and "hundreds" using it that there's an "issue."

But do they pivot?

Since I'm replying to your posts it seems I read yours. I've read thousands of posts. It's possible I've only read 5 posts other than my own though. Who knows. I pivot when I read too. Good reading system.

You and your cronies care, otherwise why would you even be posting in a cte thread?

CTE threads dominate Lou's post count.

Then I guess it's the same problem: just because someone reads something doesn't mean they understand it :-)
