OK...I got a small nick on my favorite (most expensive) cue. The cheap ones never get damaged right. It bothers me the same as getting a door ding on my car. I'd like to hear who you think is a very good quality refinisher with good turn around time. The cue cost close to $1000. It is in excellent condition. Feel feel to PM or post here. Thanks
 
You're probably going to get tons of replies, so I'll start it off.

I had Steve Klapp (nucues) do some refinish work for me...He does a great job and is great to deal with...he has a post in the Wanted/For Sale section with tons of positive remarks and pics of his refinish work...

I've dealt with Scot a lot for many years. He is very reliable, talented, and fair. $85 and your cue will look like new. 10 days turnaround like clockwork, and his finish work is the cleanest, least invasive I've seen. He's literally done everything from Szamboti's to Dufferin's.

Check out the 2 Brunswick 26 1/2's toward the bottom of the page with the leather wraps. Scot restored those for me. Notice how he finished around the decal and weight imprints, put new wraps on, and but left the 90 year old patina in the maple intact. These cues are beautiful in person. He did all the sanding and finish removal by hand, no tools. They were not pretty when I sent them, but they were and are still dead straight.

I received the cue back in a very timely fashion. The finish is absolutely perfect. It is as nice or nicer than the original finish. Thank you for the recommendation. Scot at Proficient is as businesslike on the ball as can be. He emailed the shipping date and tracking # in advance....it gave me a heads up to look for the package. Would use again and highly recommend.

I have sent a couple of acquisitions to Scott that were really trashed out! They both came back like new. His work in cleaning old light colored linen wraps is amazing, as are all other aspects of his work.:thumbup:
Glad to hear the recommendation worked out!

Ryan Theewen at Rat Cues who also posts on AZB as "ratcues" refinished one of my cues this summer. I was very happy with his work. He also works at Muellers.

i have used scott also.....he it TOPS......you cant appreciate how nice of a job he does until you see the diffrence......ps take pics before and after....it is unreal.....gl mickey
