I just uploaded this match. Race to 35. The match is not entire there are racks missing ( not my fault, the video is edited this way ). A very enjoyable match. I uploaded this match because there are a lot of Evgeny Stalev fans here.

Stalev is great! Love his style. Don't think you can get much more cool and relaxed and play top notch pool. Thanks for uploading and posting!!!

he regularly use them on his cues.

Slh:

Thank you so much for posting these video links. Yes, I'm one of those admitted Stalev fans on this forum, as you mentioned in your opening post.

And yes, Evgeny has used carom rubber grips on his cues for as long as I can remember. In fact, I admit I got the idea to use carom rubber grips on my pool cues from watching Evgeny years ago. (I had a few cues that I liked, with the exception of their very slippery Irish linen grip, so the carom rubber grip solved that problem nicely.)

Did anyone notice Stalev using a slipon rubber grip on his cue?

I guarantee you that you can't "slip on" these rubber grips -- they're far too tight and "grippy" (even with tons of talc applied to both the cue and the inside of the rubber grip tube). Rather, they are rolled on. There's an easily-learned technique to applying these.

I'm a big fan of Stalev too, actually is my favourite player. Its a shame he quit playing pool.
At first i was hesitant in uploading the match because the quality is not very good...
Do you think somebody would stop watching the match because the quality is too bad?

Where can I buy these carom rubber grips?

Sources for carom rubber grips

No, never hesitate from posting match videos. If they are not good quality, just say so in your post, but please don't hesitate from posting them. As long as people know beforehand about the quality (and what to expect), no, I don't believe people would not watch.

As for the carom rubber grips, you can get them from virtually any online pool store. I would look for the "Cyclone" brand, as these are the same brand that Evgeny (and 3-cushion players, for that matter) use.

Here are some sources:

A thread in the Carom forum that describes many sources:

Also, Mezz has an EXCELLENT carom rubber grip (I have these that Caroline Pao of Mezz sold to me, and I really like them -- even better than the Cyclone brand):

http://miki-mezz.com/world/acc/spgrip/index.html (There's even a link on this page showing you step-by-step how to use the "roll-into-a-doughnut" installation technique.)

I hope this is helpful!
